Pros: I love this property! In my travels, I have stayed in some of the most Luxurious 5 star hotels in my & have stayed in discount Inn Motels and this property is one of the highest quality Inn’s I have ever encountered/ experienced. Extremely safe, welcoming and hospitable with ultra clean facilities inside and out. Gave me the feeling of home away from home for me and my family who had been traveling and needed a break from our long distance drive. Lobby is welcoming and calming with kind hospitable professionalism at time of check in who were extremely patient amongst issues with retrieving my reservation through bookings.com while having technical issues with their systems. Perfect for us as we traveled over the road through an unfamiliar area. Clean, clean, clean refreshing comfortable facilities and room. They have brand new mattresses that were ultra comfortable for our much needed rest from our journey as we passed through driving. It was 100% worth paying a premium rate. Trustworthy property that made us feel very safe. I couldn’t be happier with my / our stay. I am only sad we couldn’t stay longer to take advantage of the full breakfast offered in the morning. The next road trip we are on I will be scheduling our itinerary around to ensure we can take full advantage of all that is offered by Radisson’s Country Inn and Suites. I highly recommend staying. If you want the best next affordable trustworthy stay for your family in Texarkana, I assure you that you will be glad you booked here. The room was the perfect temperature with quiet pre running AC, wonderful clean bathing with great water pressure. I literally can’t thank this property management and staff enough for ensuring we had such an amazing experience! PS - Thank you for the coffee that helped me back on the road in the early hours! Really a true blessing for us to have stayed. Thank you!
Cons: The room had a slight damp musty mildew smell that by no means is a deal breaker. They had an ultra quiet dehumidifier in the room running to help relieve the dampness and remove allergens and for this reason, my son who has sever allergies had no issues whatsoever with breathing and sleeping. We all slept soundly and felt extremely rested after only a few short hours of sleep before we were back...
Read moreThe good:
The bed was clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly. Breakfast is just a little better than most hotels of the same range. 2 employees working and constantly cleaning and stocking the breakfast area. There is a very large parking area for big trucks in front of the property, but no lighting in that area.
The bad:
As pointed out in multiple reviews in recent months, maintenance and cleanliness are definitely an issue here. The elevator has a musky smell and the floor tiles are broken up. I found a silverfish in my bathroom. They are nocturnal infestation creatures like moist wood and dark damp areas. More than likely a major moisture issue here. There was a moldy smell in the bathroom. The bathroom still had hair and other unsavory debris on the floor. Due to the tile color a little hard to see in photos. The shelf in the shower was broken and missing so nowhere to place your soap or shampoo when showering. There was a grey mold in multiple spots along the silicone edges of the shower. The water pressure was very much left to be desired, but this could have been due to being on the top floor. There were stains on the lounging chair. The TV is really small compared to other hotels in this price range. The air conditioner was a little noisy. I like a repetitious sound to sleep to, so this did not bother me but definitely would some people. Furniture and decor give a cheaper motel feel.
Final thoughts:
If I had no other options in the area for the same price range, I would stay here again as none of the mentioned issues would deter me to stay in another city or a cheap motel. Just unsure how much it helps to write reviews about this place as multiple recent reviews have mentioned the cleanliness and condition of rooms and apparently nothing has changed in months. Management really needs to step up their game here instead of just responding to the reviews and...
Read moreWe booked a king suite at this hotel so we could relax a bit before bed after a 13-hour drive from Wisconsin to Texas. When we booked the room, we decided to use our points (16,000 I believe) to pay for the room. We were extremely disappointed. The room was not clean especially the bathroom and the furniture. I took pictures of the issues. First thing we do when we get in the hotel room is to check the bed, make sure the sheets and bedspread, etc. are clean; that was fine and the bedroom area looked clean. We unpacked a little bit, got some ice for a beverage and went to sit on the furniture to watch a little TV. The furniture had stains on both the couch and chair, and made us very uncomfortable to sit on so we put bath towels down and we sat on the towels. We used the bathroom (door open) to get cleaned up and put our pjs on. I noticed the tub needs to be replaced or resprayed and there were chips and stains, it didn’t look the cleanest so we decided not to use it. We sat and watched a little TV. When we used the bathroom (door shut), that is when we noticed the floor, in the corner by the tub behind the door was filthy, it must not have been cleaned in a long time. See pictures. We did not call the front desk as we were already in our pjs and ready for bed. I double checked the bed and it was fine. The carpet is fraying on the edge and the wood furniture that housed the refrigerator is chipped on the bottom edge. Not what we expected from this brand of hotel. We are wondering if we got a room that needs fixing up and cleaning because we booked with our points. If that is the case we will not be staying at any Country Inn and Suites in the future. I am hoping that the hotel manager or chain reads this and returns part of our points. We have stayed here before, this exact hotel and was never this disappointed. I have pictures but didn't see anywhere to...
