From start to finish Dr. Piefer’s Team was extremely thorough, professional, informative, helpful, kind and really put you at ease. I am kind of a unique situation as I have had a lot of trauma and so Things are not as easy for me and I have a tendency to get a little anxious about new doctors and new facilities. Since my accident, I have had a hard time with the x-rays and just lining up the way The technicians need me to, but his x-ray tech was so great. Put me at ease and did not make me feel bad or uncomfortable or self-conscious about how I move. I really Wish I remembered his name, but he was great. It was quick and easy. Next. I met with Chris and gave him the rundown of what I was looking for and what I needed.He was great and really listened to my whole story, it’s a long one lol and did not rush me through as several others have done in my recent history. Very kind and caring Which makes talking about trauma easier. Dr. Piefer was very informative about the best way to go about my situation and I really like explained The longevity of a hip replacement and then it would be best to start with a less invasive procedure first Since I am “ Still young”… I am a fan of being called Young in my 40s. S/P lower leg injury timeline:

Friday night: bone-headed and embarrassing injury to my big, dumb leg.

Saturday morning: got an initial diagnosis from the local emergency room (all doom and gloom...likely surgical intervention, many months of rehab, etc).

Monday afternoon: got a referral from a friend and was able to get a same day appointment to see Dr Piefer. Following an evaluation the films, reports, etc. and a thorough physical exam, Dr Pieffer came up with a definitive diagnosis rather quickly. While not exactly rainbows and sunshine, his diagnosis was a WHOLE LOT better than what those sinister ER folks were touting.

Bottom line, this fella is a master of his craft, and I completely trust his professional opinion (even after just one visit). Plus, he comes across as just a "regular guy," not some holier than thou egomaniac that expects you to bow to his greatness.

Oh, and I like the fact that he offered up a really good, grip-your-hand-and-meet-your-gaze...

Dr Piefer performed total knee replacement surgery on my right knee. It was my worst knee. He also repaired the “ham string” and removed the “baker’s cyst”. Dr. Piefer also had to “realign” the bones in my thigh because my knee had been so bad for so many years, my bones didn’t line up with the artificial knee. I needed “24/7” care for the first 8 days. I really couldn’t even get to the the toilet for the first 4 days. I worked so hard on the physical therapy by the time I went to the first office visit I could bend and straighten my knee better than required. He did a great job. My scar is almost not even there. He also repaired a broken arm at the top of his shoulder on my husband a few years ago. That was a beautiful repair also and my husband never had any problems at all, and no pain from that surgery.
