World-class service and expert repair

My laptop wouldn't charge reliably, and when it did it overheated and killed chargers. I'm cheap and I know nothing about this stuff, but I found a replacement charging port online and an installation guide on ifixit, so it was worth a shot

I opened the laptop, installed the new part, but it still wouldn't charge. I retried a few times and forfeited to the insanity, so I called around and everyone said to take it to Gratiot Electronics

Enter Tim. With just a glance he noticed the socket on the logic board released from its leads (It had gotten that hot!). He tried to find a replacement socket but there were no exact matches, so he bypassed the socket and soldered the new charger board wires directly to the logic board

I reassembled my laptop, all works normally, and no more charging heat. It's everything I wanted

Tim was patient, educated me on causes and options, and treated me and my laptop with the utmost respect

I had a great experience at Gratiot Electronics. I have made multiple stops here over the years and have always received excellent service. I was having an issue with the high idle circuit on my Lincoln Weldanpower 225. I had eliminated some of the items in the circuit to not be the issue. The gentleman at Gratiot Electronics cleaned the idle board and gave me sound advice on what to do next and now my high idle control is back working the way it should be.
