If I could leave a NEGATIVE 5 stars I would.

I had engaged Mario Reed to assist with a property tax matter and this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a professional service provider. In addition, I referred another landlord to his office and she too stated that he was unprofessional, rude and failed to move her case forward due to payment, although he never requested the payment.

In my case specifically – he failed to review the details of my case and therefore assumed that the property tax savings and refund would be different. He made the assumption that my second installment taxes were unpaid when in fact they were paid. When I called his office, he failed to take responsibility for the assumption and instead told me that I should have “looked into it myself.”

As a CPA, I have no problem looking into matters myself however – that is why I paid his firm…to investigate these matters. I paid for a service and instead received narcissist type treatment wrapped up in a suit and bow tie!

In addition – he saw that the property tax refund was sent to my property address in the name of previous building over and he once again FAILED to inform me or provide directions on make this update/change.

Furthermore, he then proceeds to send over several emails harassing me and in one email he stated “birds of a feather flock together.”

Is this the attorney that you all think so highly of? I question whether half of these reviews are real after my experience.

Please don’t be fooled by the “Greatest of Mornings to you!” introduction.

This man is clearly overwhelmed, stressed out and unable to manage his client responsibilities. I informed him that I would be saving the emails as documentation of his lack of professionalism and harassment.

I was curious to see how its even possible that he has all of these 5 star reviews until I saw another 2 star review written a month ago by Jessica Dobson that reads as follows:

“BEWARE Five-star reviews are bribes

I found Mario Reed's office after reading a Block Club Chicago article about people experiencing similar property issues to my own. I greatly appreciated the initial advice the office provided me, but am greatly put off by the fact that they require you to post a 5-star review before they will engage any further. I would gladly pay a consultation fee to discuss my situation in-depth, but cannot trust an organization that bribes people for reviews.”

This all makes sense now - how many of these reviews are from real clients. My guess is not many.

Update: Please note that my initial review was based on the initial consultation over a year ago - prior to the engagement completion. Now that the engagement has been completed - I am able to provide a more honest review of NEGATIVE 5 stars.

While Mr. Mario is a low-cost service provider - I can assure you, that you will get what you pay for!

Choose an attorney that not only has the experience but the professionalism. Run as fast as you can in the opposite direction!

Also - take note that Mr. Mario will likely provide a 10 paragraph response in true...

I hope whomever is reading this have time ....first off before my grandmother got ill she wanted me to look for a second lawyer because the one she currently had was unprofessional and by her being a senior he was overcharging her and misleading her. I fired him and hopelessly searched for a reputable lawyer that can help with my grandmothers needs . as I almost gave up hope I reluctantly called downtown (kinda like a needle in a haystack) to see if I could get help ...this one lady said she wasn't sure how to go about finding a good lawyer but we do have some recommendations ....so I called the first number she gave me and THERE is when the blessings started. I left Mr Mario a message and about an hour later he called back. I was so hesitant to divulge all of our families business and current situation but we were desperate and running out of options . Mr Mario immediately started helping us with our situation and offering his knowledge even before meeting with us. When he offered to meet us and further promised to see us thru till the end I was skeptical but then again still desperate. He showed up ON TIME looking spiffy (very professional ) and ready to work for my grandmother ....HE WAS THERE when we had questions , concerns , confused , loss faith , didn't know what the next step was and even came to visit my grandmother on her dying day. This INTELLIGENT BLACK LAWYER was more than a lawyer he showed compassion ,empathy and faith for our family. I've always thought lawyers was there to exactly do their job get paid win a case and be gone. But Mr Mario was kind and gentle with my grandmother and he even took pics ....He came to the hospital on May 5th 2019 on my grandmothers dying day to pray and wish us all the best going forward (I'm literally crying writing this) . On a legal tip he left no stone unturned no t's uncrossed . to this very day I wish him so much success in ALL OF HIS ENDEVOURS !!! BEST LAWYER EVER AND I AM SO PROUD TO SEE SUCH INTEGRITY AND proffessionalism in this man ! I wish I could sit here all day and write how much this man touched our families lives in such short time. my grandmother loved him and trusted him and he did not disappoint! I wish u ALL the best Mario !! Thank you from the bottom of my heart my granny passed comfortably and happy knowing all her assets where protected ....we will forever be thankful and grateful...

Wow, I wish I could give zero stars.

I called interested in acquiring service and began explaining the situation to him and he began to tell me that what i was telling him was not possibly and then continued to go on and on so I interrupted and said No this is what happen and he began to tell me how I did not want to hear what he was telling me and i stated No your telling me this is not what occurred and it is what occurred, and he rudely began to keep telling me that it was not possible and that it did not occur. WHEN THAT WOULD BE THE REASON FOR ME CALLING AN ATTORNEY. And it very much did happen ILLEGALLY. He refused to listen yet believe what O was telling him what so ever. Just kept saying that could not be done as I continued to state well it was and hello thats illegal to have been done!

I am completely baffled at the lack of professionalism and all out rudeness of someone who is on the profession of helping people in some of their hardest times. Absolutely horrible.

AND IN HIS RESPONSE THE LIES ARE INSANE FOR AN “ATTORNEY”. I have never been turnt down by a law firm before at all! I WAS NEVER RUDE! You were the first law firm I contacted outside of the one I had been considering for a price of service lbs. I kept interrupting because he was continuing to tell me what i was saying was in-accurate and untrue so Yes , i kept interrupting because he continued to go on and on about the WRONG INFORMATION AND CALL ME A LIAR. As far as the information given, that is not what was said BY FAR. I never called for “free advice”, I called for pricing to get an idea of reasonable prices for this kind of matter in which OTHER ATTORNEYS i have spoke with, way more professional ones, all understood this situation just fine. And yes, i referred to my brother as such because what else is there to refer to him as?

His response alone should steer people away from him. You can always call yourself tho and see how...
