Mr. Submarine — Restaurant in Thornton Township

I'm so sick of this place not returning, learned my lesson. I repeated my order 3 times and the incompetent person with the irritating fast talking voice at the window still got it wrong. Then didn't apologize, just more less tough luck. Ill do business elsewhere moving forward. Good food doesnt compensate for poor customer service! But whats up with kids...high schoolers blocking the drive thru?! Some aren't even ordering. I've sat and watched them play and converse with their friends until they're ready to move. Its pety and tacky. This is a place of business. Open yr doors and let walk-ins come in. They don't have to sit and eat. With the prices you charge hire security to keep the peace. I shouldn't have to pay, and wait unnecessarily just to place an order.

The wait time after ordering is average 15-20 minutes. I stay a bit away from the restaurant, but anytime I'm in the area I like to stop and get their bone in chicken wings. They are always hot & fresh...But this time I was thoroughly disappointed. I ordered 6 wings and when I arrived home I couldn't believe it I had wings that looked like they came from a baby chicken instead of a full grown chicken! It was ridiculous and disappointing especially after paying close to $12.00. This is NOT acceptable. I think that if this happens again I'll need to find somewhere else to get my chicken. I don't want those baby size wings or the ones that appear to be on steroids, but a nice normal size chicken wing would be greatly appreciated. It was about $2.00 dollars per...

I have only gone to this place 3 times since moving to the area. My first time was around summer of 2023 and I ordered turkey sandwich and soup combo and everything was DELICIOUS! Recently (my 3rd time - and possibly last), June 2025 I ordered the Reuben sandwich and was asked did I want it “hot or cold”. I thought this was an awkward question because Reuben sandwiches usually are served with warm/hot meat with sauerkraut, melted cheese and thousand island dressing. So I thought! I chose “cold” since they do not toast the bread but use microwave instead. Plus I didn’t want the bread soggy from being microwaved. To my surprise, the ENTIRE sandwich was cold PLUS they used mustard instead of the thousand island dressing that is commonly served with it. So for this place, I would say “Lesson Learned”. I would attempt another visit, because I have always received good customer service and they are very fast with orders. But make sure to check my order...

This location was such a disappointment! Please see pictures attached. My "Mr. Sub" had the thinnest layer of meat I've ever seen. I pretty much had a lettuce and onion sandwich! Also, after you order they have a sign on the sliding pick-up window stating that they add a 4% service fee for any "cards", (including debit cards apparently.) This notice should be on the menu, so you know BEFORE you order. By the time you pull up to pay, you can not see it clearly if the window is open! I will be contacting the BBB and any other entity to see if that is fair. Even my garlic fires were sub par. I've been eating Mr. SUB for over 40 years and this location...
