VINCENT sales rep at value city furniture in Calumet city is exceptional, He is patient and very professional. He took his time to walk through the store to show me a variety of pieces. At one point, I decided on the furniture piece by the time he came back I had changed my mind. He was so calm, patient and understanding as I apologize. I ended up purchasing another piece that was across from the piece that I was sitting on that caught my Attention. The delivery team that delivered my furniture delivered with care, professionalism, efficient, and safe. I give them a five star as well as Vincent the sales rep. The warehouse where the furniture is stored I give them a three star because they should implement a 24 to 48 hour furniture inspection prior to delivery date. This will cut down delivery cancellations as well as give them time to see any damage or broken pieces that can be replaced prior to the Scheduled delivery date. Keep in mind that customers also have to work and to continually call off of work because of furniture, reschedules or delivery rescheduling itâs not fair to the customers. I recommend that management at the warehouse implements an inspection team not only would it cut down the delivery cancellations and delays.    Read moreThe five stars are for the Calumet City location. Although I originally visited the Orland Park location to exchange a dining table I had purchased online just two days prior. Unfortunately, I was told they âcould not do anything with online ordersâ and that I would need to call Customer Service, cancel my order, wait for a refund, and then repurchase the new table directly from their store. This process seemed unnecessarily complicated, and I left feeling completely confused. Coincidentally, as I was leaving, Jeanne (or Gene?) from the Calumet City locationâs customer service team called to confirm the delivery of my original order. I explained my situation, and she immediately reassured me that an exchange was possibleâshe wasnât sure why the Orland Park store couldnât do the same.
I headed straight to the Calumet City location, where I met Jeanne in person. She was incredibly friendly, professional, and helpful. In just five minutes, she processed my exchange with no issues at all. She even apologized for my previous experience and emphasized that her priority was making sure I could furnish my home the way I wanted.

It was not a pleasant experience. When I walked in the door, I had all intentions of purchase. But when I had to ask twice to be given space to look around, I became annoyed. I heard two workers gossiping poorly about a previous customer when I was looking at furniture. Once I was ready, I filled out the application to purchase.
I didn't receive the offer I was looking for, but that's okay. I decided I'll come back another time, but when I asked the store agent to please despose my application with my personal information, she looked at me offensively.
It was a piece of paper with my personal info, that was used to upload in their system. The paper was no longer needed and should be shredded, but she waited till I walked out the door to just toss it in the trash wide open.
I did not appreciate the lack of professionalism in protecting my personal information. On top of that, I received multiple calls after that, asking when I'll be returning. It wasn't polite calls it was harrassing (2Ă a day). This is not a store that wants to build client relations, but more about getting paid.
