Out The Box — Local services in Thornton

This shop gets two stars for having a fantastic inventory and set up. No doubt do they have a crazy inventory of TCG and collectibles compared to other stores in the area. HOWEVER, this shop gets minus three stars for: poor customer service, EXTREMELY high TCG prices, and poor quality assurance on sold products. I went to this shop with high expectations based on reviews and marketing, but was let down immensely. Yes, they have an AMAZING inventory, but the prices on TCG items are double if not higher on sealed product and singles. In fact I’ve been to every card shop in the Denver metro area and this one has the highest prices BY FAR. In terms of customer service I felt rushed and didn’t get a good chance to look at the item I was purchasing as it was in a sleeve with a non clear back. As I got to my car I was able to inspect further and was sold a heavily played card for near mint pricing. I immediately went back in the shop to see if I could get something for store credit as I had a receipt (didn’t even want my money back) and was denied. It’s my understanding that this shop lets vendors sell items. I think this is a really COOL idea. However where is the quality insurance? You shouldn’t let folks sell cards for near mint status when they are heavily played status. This shop has good marketing and inventory, but save your time and money and check out Mythic Games, Game Heroes or Level 7 Gaming for your TCG needs in...

Brand new store that took over the space that used to be Genie Travel. Upon entering the establishment I was greeted with a friendly hello and told a bit about the place. I responded in kind and took a lap around the store. It is well laid out with product placed in spacious cases. On that note some of them are empty at the moment, though I'm sure they'll fill up over time as other find out about this shop. A wide variety of MISB (mint in sealed box) and loose figures are offered along with other miscellaneous goods. Items are fairly priced with a good assortment such as TMNT, Transformers, Star Wars, Marvel, My Little Pony, etc. Unfortunately nothing caught my eye this time around.
