It pains me to even write this. I just feel C. Marsh needs to know. He may or may not be concerned, not sure. I had been thinking about going here for over a year, now. Got back into magic playing/collecting etc. I felt between Marsh and Posty Malone, felt they were the face of "celebrities" of magic the gathering and making the game more mainstream. A NFL football player is a collector and proud to say a player of magic. Then he joins my favorite team the Chicago Bears. That's a guy I can get behind.
Their online peeps that cracked packs. Made it fun, Marsh even joined one and gave my brother and I a shout out. Way cool, on insta.
My daughter is here playing in a basketball tournament , I seen how close we were, to the shop. I had to go.
Yes. It was 6p on a Sunday. But hey. I was going to wait until tomorrow. But decided to go tonight.
Walked in, and was greeted. Kind of. Told the guy at the counter, I was from Spokane WA. And never been here and was looking forward to it.
He said cool, and that was it. Asked if they had playmats with the logo on them and said oh, yeah, wait they were down there, guess not".
That was it.....I looked around and absolutely zero conversation, nothing. I was there to buy some stuff. Didn't matter. Then nobody at the front desk, he went and visited with the online guys. Then came back out. Made eye contact. And nothing.
I ended walking out in so much disappointment. Unfortunately, another store front for mostly online sales. Lacks at everything, customers service, conversation, attention, actually caring about people that walk in the door.
I am 1300 miles from home and I took the time to stop buy and fulfill a "I should go to a place, when I get the chance ", kind of like visiting a stadium or arena you have never been to. Maybe a little extreme but that's how I viewed this place. The online experience made me feel this way.
I thinks it's important that a LGS shouldn't discredit the people that actually walk into their facility. They should be a top priority.
What a sad deal all together. A let down is a understatement. The experience underwhelming and disappointing.
A successful LGS is possible with good ole fashion human relations with your customers.
Open ended questions, guidance for potential purchases, feeling of importance, a experience that keeps them coming back.
Unfortunately, you have lost a online customer...

Let me start this review by saying this is coming from the perspective of someone who mainly collects Pokemon cards, so I cant tell you how good this place is for other card series like Magic, Sports, Lorcana, etc.
Sadly, I can not recommend spending money at this store on Pokemon products for multiple reasons
First off sealed product is heavily overpriced and above market price. When I can buy the exact same thing at other card shops or online for significantly less I will be doing that rather than buying here. For example something on the market that is currently $90 they're selling for $120, this is quite bad. $30 saved is $30 saved.
Secondly, their single selection is all too often above market aswell. This seems to be a more recent thing but expensive singles are now $5 to $15 over market price. If I'm looking at a card and the market for said card is $35 and you're selling it for $45 I'd rather go somewhere else.
Third, the trade in and selling rates are awful. I recently heard CCU will buy cards from you at 50% cash and 60% store credit. If you're into the hobby I shouldn't have to tell you but 50% for cash is absurdly low. If you're not atleast getting 70% for your cards I'd pretty much call that a huge rip-off. Do some research and I gurantee you, you'll find people who are willing to buy off you for 80%
The saving grace for this location for me is its Saturday Pokemon trade days. Even on its slowest days the place is bound to get pretty busy. I always have fun seeing the regulars and the employees even let kids sign up to win free Pokemon packs which is very nice.
Overall I love this place for its Saturday trade days and community but sadly I cant recommemd spending money on their very overpriced products.

Went in looking to buy A LOT of pokemon cards. They were busy as it was a Saturday. Explained to the clerk that I was new to collecting and just looking to fill up some binders. I was looking to buy a large amount of cards for the least amount of money. He then directs me to a binder with individual cards for 1$ each. Which mathematically is a terrible deal unless you're looking for like, 1 or 2 specific cards. I re-explain what I'm looking for and even mention seeing a deal on the website like "8 packs for 33$" which would make each card about 0.38 cents per card instead of 1$ per. He bluntly says "were out of that" And I wait around hoping he will then show me one of the box sets or something behind the counter similar to what I'm looking for. But nope. We just stare at eachother for a good minute until I feel so uncomfortable I leave. I could tell he was over it and just trying to get me out the door as fast as possible.
Went to Simi Sportscards afterwards and had a 10/10 experience. Clerk showed me tons of options, walked me through prices and deals and I walked out of there very happy. Go...
