I entered this store looking for a love seat. Beautiful furniture but I told the owner's daughter was way out of my price range. She offered one over-sized chair for 50 % off even though there was no sale. She gave me a price tax included. I still was very hesitant because of price was still too high for me. She went on and on on how its meant to be with my ideas for my daughter and I. I caved when I admit I should not have financially. That is my bad. Another red flag was when there was some excuse as to why they could not take my bank debit card or check. Cash only! Obviously I did not have that on me and she insisted that TODAY only cash. She said no problem there is a cash machine right around the corner I will take you. She abandoned the store empty and stood next to me as I took out the SALE price for the chair (coincidentally most banks max amount for withdrawals in one day) of $600 (3 transactions of $200). She said I could leave chair as long as needed at their store in the back. I then realized my mistake and asked for a return to the employee, daughter of the owners. I was told every excuse, that were really all nonsensical on how it would hurt their business. They offered to put back on the floor for sale, like consignment, to get my money back. I checked several times over months and every time it was in the back not on display. I also was promised they would get a receipt from their "accountant on the purchase". That never came and seems very keen to this whole deal. It was obviously off the books and no sales tax afterall. They finally put on floor at full price. I met the mother who seemed very charming at first and asked why chair displayed at full price. Her tone was so rude and unprofessional. I am very soft spoken but I know when I am not just given the run around but shut down. Someone who knows the owner went in and asked for a refund. He was told he was rude and on camera. I took a picture of the now full price chair and was told if they sell it at that price they would lose money. I finally picked up chair on my own expense.
Can they just give me my money back? About 2 weeks ago I called back to tell my story to someone who was not the owner or family of. I spoke of being pushed and heavily persuaded to buy chair. I was near by about a week ago and decided to stop for one more attempt to obtain a receipt that was promised. The owner and daughter were present. The owner immediately got on his phone as if calling authorities. My first experience with daughter or any sales person or lady to yell anything. She yelled, "I pushed, I pushed you!?". Her body language was so aggressive to the point that she was going to jump the counter and pull my pony tail ( I had no pony tail, I mean physically assault of me), as in some sort of cat fight. Oh my God!. Then she yelled camera is on. Good, I hope so. They both looked horribly visually alone, forget the words. I walked out casually. No refund, no receipt.
Don't deal with low class people like this. Lies! They need a...
