Used to love this place until I made 3 purchases at once. I'm a petite French girl so I can't carry the articles by myself and I've got a bad back due to my recovering from surgery. So I waited and asked someone for help. One of the men who worked there was LITERALLY fighting me and making a fuss because I softly asked for his help to carry one of the furniture pieces.
The lady at the counter made it PERFECTLY clear that she wanted the items OUT after they were sold. And the money is NOT given back once it touches their hands... so what options do I have except to ask for a little bit of help? I've got the truck outside waiting to be loaded and this black, short guy with a HUGE pot-belly (I didn't get his name) was literally fighting me (verbally) with protests saying that he DIDN'T have to help me at all and that it was just "a courtesy" to offer to help. (Again, I didn't understand the hostility since I ASKED nicely, I never say he HAD to... ???)
I felt awkward and also guilty cause he kept on raving on and on about how he didn't have to do anything apart from stand around and look grimy but he was a noble sport who was going to anyway.
I felt really awkward.
Seeing from afar what was happening, his partner arrived; a taller, skinnier dude that helped him and me mount the small sofa onto the truck. (3 people were not even needed, I think the first guy was just lazy and wanted to look busy???)
I kept it polite and thanked both gentlemen. The taller, skinnier dude waved responsively, but the pot-bellied one who protested just grumbled and gave me his back as he walked back into the store dismissively. RUDE as hell.
Yeah. I can just FEEL the "courtesy" there, bud.
I understand that this is not a real store in the sense that they don't really CARE about the customers or customer service... but come on.. you're being PAID something to move your butt a little bit.
The part that got me to write this review was that these two skinny French girls (friends of mine) were able to easily lift the small furniture like it was nothing. They were literally giggling and chatting while doing it. So what the heck was he even fussing about?!
Strange customer service policy, I won't be going back there again. Nobody likes to be treated like they're just walking dollar bill signs. $$$. Learn to treat people accordingly when they have spoken to you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIts an ok place to look around find some fair stuff. But it being a business place for public it needs a restroom for public use as well as water fountain. I asked Ms. Peggy to use restroom cause it was emergency apparently that don't matter, she told me I need to go to office ask manager lady. I'm going tell you the most descent one in there to my notion is Mrs. Barbet. They going to run a place of business they need public restroom and water fountain! Ms. Peggy told me before not to waste my time trading with Goodwill they don't care about the customers or people in need! She was so wrong in saying that when they(Brother Charlie's) don't care as much...
