1/9/25 update: I just discovered that Will CEO is also CEO of Southern Office Supplies. I had to laugh over that one! Didn’t they make a TV show about that? Will CEO, do you seriously still have customers who haven’t discovered the internet? Will CEO, send me your address so I can send you one of those Dunder Mifflin coffee mugs. No wonder you’re so desperate to jerk over your appliance customers!
Stop making excuses for not giving me my refund. You have my credit card information. You don’t need anything else. If you’re too incompetent to figure it out, you can always send a check to my address which you have. And yes, I did use a curse word at Josh after he refused to send someone to repair the dryer that Ryan broke. Do you blame me? He deserved much worse.
Although I still won’t name “The Kid”, I don’t mind calling out Ryan who has clearly bought into the company culture of lying to customers and trying to milk all the money he can out of them. Do you work on commission, Ryan? You sure act like it. Your incompetence cost me more than $1000 between the new dryer, laundry services while I waited on it, and the “service fee” you charged me for breaking my dryer. …………
I am updating an earlier review regarding an incorrectly and unsafely installed built-in microwave with my latest experience.
I had a dryer giving a blocked duct warning. I called SA requesting service, but first wanted to make it clear that I was dissatisfied with their previous work, that they were on thin ice with me, and needed to do a better job. I then described the issue and stated that I needed the duct cleaned and, for good measure, the dryer as well. They told me there would be a $95 service charge, which I agreed to. I again described what I wanted to the technician. After he had torn the dryer apart and started cleaning it, he called me into the laundry to tell me that he couldn’t clean the duct because masonry prevented removal of the cap. He also told me that he had added $50 to the charge for cleaning the dryer, again after he had disassembled it. That was the first I had heard of the extra charge. Cleaning the dryer was ancillary and useless without cleaning the duct. He then cheerfully told me they would charge another $150 to clean the duct once I had removed the masonry. No thank you. I did it myself. Incidentally, the tool I used worked just fine without removing the vent cap. Maybe their method required its removal or maybe they just wanted to nail me for another $150.
It took me a couple of days to get the equipment and find the time to clean the duct. Once I did, I discovered that the technician hadn’t reassembled the dryer correctly and it no longer worked. I want to emphasize that it was working perfectly fine before being cleaned. I merely had a blocked duct. When I called to tell them they had broken my dryer, Josh refused to send anyone to fix it, though he did promise a refund. Still waiting on that refund, Josh. Oh wait, you were lying, weren’t you?
As much trouble as I have had with this company, I was still flabbergasted they would behave this way. And then I saw Will CEO’s reply to my earlier review. Wow, Will CEO, you must have been really incensed about my 1-star review to feel compelled to reply personally. I have issues with your reply. The quotes you attributed to me are completely manufactured nonsense. You claim to have taped the calls. Did you listen to them? I said nothing of the kind. You accused me of making a personal attack against the technician. Clearly that’s false; otherwise, I would have used his name. My criticism is leveled squarely on you, Will CEO, for sending unqualified technicians to my home. And yes, Will CEO, literacy is an essential component of that qualification. How can they safely install or service appliances if they can’t or won’t read the instructions? Imagine the potential consequences—house fires, electrocution, burns, or in my case a minor abrasion because my microwave unexpectedly slid because it had been incorrectly and...
Read moreUse Service with Extreme Caution!! Disappointed because I chose them Based on Google reviews and the young lady name Teresa who answers the phone extremely professional and good energy. Should you decide to have them come out and change parts on your appliance, please keep the old part just in case you have to call an alternate repair company. My old Vehicle mechanic told Me long ago to always ask for parts that are changes on my vehicle and now I’m applying it to anything that I have to hire someone to repair. Was told I need a new pump on my LG washer, fine, order the part. Mind you, he did not perform a thorough check as he said he knew exactly what was wrong and only pulled the machine out to look at the back. part came in, SA tech returned to put on and the machine gave the same exact error code as before. Second repair person sent out to repair and he said it would cost close to $600 additional dollars after we’d spent a total of $342 for the first trip out. I called and spoke with the Manager who just gave a bunch of excuses yet refused to refund me my money for a pump that serves me no good. They want refund and if they do, make sure to get...
Read moreMy 88 year old grandmother had a knob brake on her washing machine. They do not have parts readily available for older washing machines in most hardware stores. 88yr olds are set in certain ways, and she wanted a replacement knob and was about to make a call to a local repair man for a house visit. Only the plastic part of the knob was broken, not the actual switch. I called southern appliances after a google search. They said they don't carry knobs, but have a basket of parts from machines they have scrapped, and maybe they can match one. Not only did they have one, but it was the exact replacement. They didn't charge me for it. It was probably only $1.50's worth of plastic. But it saved me a world of frustration, $15 ordering off a website for a cheap piece of plastic only to arrive days later, and it made my grandmother happy that her machine was fixed....
