I had an amazing experience at Market Basket in Tilton New Hampshire today. Ran in to grab a few things that I needed and got into the 20 items or less lane. The girl asked how I was doing today and I said I just had a chemo treatment so I wasn't feeling really great and just wanted to get home. She said I hear you, my mom is going through the same thing. Rang up to around $45 total but then my card wouldn't work even after numerous tries. An older lady (I'm 64) was behind me in line and handed the cashier a 25 dollar Market Basket gift card. I said thank you but that won't cover it and told the cashier I'm sorry but I won't be able to drive all the way home to get cash and come back again and she said " I got you" as she pulled out her credit card to cover the balance. I thanked them both profusely and even promised to pay it forward (I actually do all the time paying for the car behind me at dunkin' donuts). Heading for the door with my groceries the manager noticed I was upset and asked if I was okay. I said you've got the best workers and the best customers around. I just wanted to get out of there so I told him to go to the 20 items or less aisle and ask the cashier what happened. As he headed that way I headed out the door. Got to the car and as I glanced back at the store I could see the manager and cashier waving to me through the window. I gave a grateful wave back. I got to say I spent at least a few minutes sitting there with tears in my eyes happy that they restored my faith in humanity. My advice, always pay it forward because someday that good karma will be there for you! Thank you again to that lovely lady and the cashier. May all the good karma you can handle fall into your lives! 💞 The cashier was at 20 items or less right around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. I don't know her name but she should be giving a bonus and at least employee of the month and to the older lady behind me you deserve customer of the month. Thank you both so much from making my day. You've got some great employees...
Read moreSo today 3/25/18 we went to go grocery shopping and we were pretty close to the end there was still 2-3 people in front of me still and my wife tells me she wanted Land O Lakes American cheese, which as we all know is by the deli area out back. My wife is 31 weeks pregnant. I went over there and they usually have some on the shelves there was none so I made the like it was at 65 I was 66 and the woman in front of me was ordering and the people at the deli were taking their sweet time. Well, have you guys ever forgot something and you know how you run to go get it? So it was our turn to pay for our groceries and we have WIC first and then the items we were going to pay for. The process was not even started yet, versus paging me to the front or something they had my wife run, 31 weeks pregnant.. to get me. I get back to an old man giving my wife lip because she moved his cart. Which she said can I please get by and he just sat there with his arms crossed and just stared at my wife with the death stare. I responded with “do we have a problem here..” he said “yes, you...” then I got rushed the whole time there... which by the way they started scanning stuff once I came back why wait? I don’t get it but, I go there almost every other week and spend $500-700 every 5th of the month. After this experience I am really...
Read moreThe Tilton store is great. It's clean, well organized and the staff is great. The reason my review has only 1 star is due to my experience today with 1 employee at the sandwich counter. One person can effect the whole store. I shop every Friday evening after work and always order a sandwich and go back and get it after I am finished shopping before checking out. This evening I encountered by far the rudest Market Basket employee at the store. I asked if I could order a sandwich and come back and get it. He just stood there staring at me. I told him what I wanted and went shopping. I went back 45 minutes later and asked if I could get my sandwich. The young man waiting on me looked for the sandwich and the employee who took my order said it's not here I haven't made it. I had to wait 20 minutes for him to make my sandwich. The employee handed me sandwich with no apology for the wait, for not making it nothing! I thanked him anyway he again said nothing! No acknowledgement at all. I believe he must be some sort of manager as he was the only employee not wearing a hairnet a cloth hat instead. This employee is a poor reflection on all your other...
