I honestly didn't want to give this even a one star rating because of how dirty this place was. I reserved a non smoking room two months in advance for my now in laws. My mother in law has cancer with severe asthma and no immune system as I explained to the man (Jani) who said we had nothing to worry about. So when we went to check in and got the keys to the room, we walked down the non-smoking hall which was a massive cloud of cigarette smoke. We got to our room and our keys did not work. Twice I had gone to the front desk to ask for new keys and still they did not work. The third time after someone that had worked there used a key to gain access to our room. As we entered the room, we turned the light on to discover the light didn't work. We had to use the bathroom light to see where we were walking. As we were getting everyone's belongings in, I noticed something on one of the beds. I had used my phone light at first (before discovering lights above the beds) to see there were blood stains all along the side of the comforter. I was grossed out and looked at the other bed where I discovered semen stains on that comforter. We waited for the attendant to come back and I had showed him the stains and he told me those were not stains at all. He said they wash and change the bedding every day. I was not happy and told him those were not clean and I took pictures of the stains. Then I stripped the beds completely to find there was a large semen stain under the comforter on the blanket and when I removed the pillow case to one of the pillows there was blood marks and other stains on the pillow. When I showed those stains to the attendant he told me the marks were from food someone had spilled and then swiped his hand across the large semen stain to tell me it felt crusty. I was completely grossed out and told him I was not having my in laws stay on that room. He left and returned with new bedding and told me he wasn't changing the beds because he was the only one working and there was no one else to change them. He expected us to do it and I asked for another room which he told me there were no other rooms. So I asked for a discount because it was not right to have my family stay on a room that had no working lights, stained beds and now expectations of us changing the linens and no working keys to the room and he told me "NO." I am now looking for another hotel because this was not okay and he told me that was fine and would refund me my money but he was not going to help us in any way if we stayed. Needless to say, we found another hotel (Quality Inn) and we got what we were looking for. I still am submitting the photos to the Board of Health along with Corporate just to show them what this hotel was going to have my in laws sleep in and expected us to pay full price for a dump. I would NEVER recommend this hotel to my worst enemy...
Read moreRoom looked clean. But I couldn't help but feel like it was dirty. Upon arrival it smelled like smoke (in a non-smoking room). Looking around the room a bit more I noticed stains on the bed spread, dust built behind the lights and on top of the coat shelf, and the toilet seat cover bubbling and peeling. The walls and doors are very thin so the entire time I could hear doors in the hallway opening and closing at all hours of the day and night as people came and went. If you plan to spend time in the room be aware that the tv is extremely small in scale to the rest of the room, and in my experience, stuck in wide-screen as opposed to the standard 16:9. This is a nightmare if you are a gamer like myself and want to play video games in the downtime. At least the staff was friendly in the few interactions I had with them. As for location, it's situated right off of a main route so you won't be getting much peace and quiet. The area seems like a rundown business district. I will say, however, that you don't have to drive too far north to be in the middle of the woods and lakes with fantastic scenery. But this isn't enough of a saving grace for me to ever stay there again or recommend anybody stay there. There is a Hampton Inn 5 minutes up the road and I'm sure that is a much better option and worth every extra cent...
Read moreWe booked this hotel last minute and we were surprised how expensive the room was for a Super 8 i.e. 229$US/night. Despite the pricing surprise, we assumed the facility was pristine and that this price would somewhat be justified. What a surprise ! Not only this facility is completely rundown from the reception desk, breakfast area, lobby, and hallways but our room (#114) was small, shady, and humid. The room lights are those bright neon bulbs that gives you the feeling you are in a Dollard Store and the flat screen dates from more than 20 years with an amazing 32in size. Of course, we were disappointed, but nothing compared to when we open the bathroom door ! Mold could be found on the ceiling and walls (see pictures). We convey our worries and disappointment about the quality of the room as well as the health hazards related to the mold presence in the bathroom to the front desk. The manager was not present at the time and despite the fact we left our contact info, the management did not judge worthy to call us back. DO NOT STAY IN THIS FACILITY and don’t get influenced by the fact it is a Super 8 and that it should meet the chain minimum quality standards – this specific facility doesn’t. We strongly recommend selecting any other hotel that this one in the...
