We shop at the Glendale Monnette's religiously because the store is always spotless, staff are knowledgeable and friendly and food is AMAZING. It's also the only place that we can use my EBT card at and actually receive so much more there than at regular stores. So when we were over near Schmuckers diner, we decided that we would stop and get what we needed. The one thing I knew we'd buy, was cherries. We had been getting them at the Glendale store and Aldi's for the last few months because they have been Huge, 2-bite cherries that are the perfect sweetness and sourness. AND @perfect price at less than $1.99. The store itself smelled musty and it wasn't dirty per se but neither was it clean. The produce looked like it had been sitting too long in the sun. When I went for cherries, I saw bag after bag with rotten cherries sitting in them. I had to search to find 2 decent bags and even with that they were halfway shriveled and discolored. I did finally find 2 bags that were mostly free of rot and I ignored some of the appearance and tasted 1 from each bag and, while not the best I had ever had there were also not the worst; or so I thought. We got them home and I put some in a bowl for snacking. ***For those that don't know cherries are great if you have issues with inflammation and/or insomnia. So when the nutritionist in NJ told me that and experience proved it true. I recommend them to anyone dealing with fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ms, etc... And they can increase our melatonin levels too, all naturally. *** The cherries I put into my mouth were tasteless, which surprised me. The skins weren't perfect but that can be ignored. I kept eating but every cherry was the same, slightly mushy, void of ALL flavor completely. A few were past that and tasted rotten inside. Those went straight to the garbage. I can't afford to through food away because I live off Social Security Disability checks and after bills, money is very tight. Last night I remembered when we had been in the store paying, the cashier looked at the items we purchased and gave me a "questioning" look at the 2 bags. I told him that we had been buying excellent cherries at our regular store on Glendale so I was happy to find them still on sale. He told us, "people have complained that our cherries are not fresh, that there have been more complaints on that item than on any other item they carried. I hope they are what your use to getting at the other Monnette's that you shop regularly." What he did Not say is, you should buy less just in case or not buy them at all. What kind of place is it if the employees tell customers that they are tons of complaints but they never pull the product off its shelves and find out why customers are complaining!?!? I would have expected better than that from a store we have been shopping at for more than a year. I will Never go back to that store and in fact won't be back to any of the other locations except Glendale location. I'm not just disappointed at them and the fact of what happened but in my eagerness to have more cherries, I ignored what the employee told me, and the fact that I should have known better when I HAD to search to find two bags that I myself could live with. Which is why I will force myself to eat them because money is super tight. And with my knee surgery looming soon will just try to find ways to get them into my diet without the mushy taste turning me away. But to the Monnette's employees; please if customers do nothing but complain about an item that you sell at sale prices and still customers complain. Do us ALL A FAVOR and PULL them either off your shelves and investigate the complaints. But don't just tell future perspective cherry fans that there have been complaints. CARE ENOUGH ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMERS THAT YOU'D FIND OUT THE "WHYS?" INSTEAD OF THINKING ABOUT THE WAYS YOU CAN STICK IT TO YOUR CUSTOMERS WHILE MAKING BACK YOUR MONEY!!! (And maybe that's pushing it, overall but since this is my review, my personal feelings about it are the ONLY ones that matter.

Nice garden / plant section. I sure hope they bring back the grocery side of things. Miss the deli and produce. I like to support a local business.

First of all I have to say we have always loved Monnettes💝 We have been customers since the Tremainsville Rd store as we grew up in Toledo. John and his family are always great! We moved to the country near BG and everytime we come to Toledo we stop at Monnettes. We stopped at the Reynolds Rd store today. The ladies in the deli were personable and very pleasant. The lady at the counter on the veggie and fruit side not so much. She never smiled and was short. Like hurry and get these people out of here. I realize that she has been with Monnettes a long time and she is elderly. This is the only thing that bothered us and we talked about it half the way home. We love Monnettes and will always shop there. Like family to us. Sincerely and Merry Christmas to all of you🎅 Keith and...

I got there around noon and a lot of the fruit was rotten. I couldn't find a decent peach and the cucumbers I brought home were bad also when I cut them open (this is not fully why I'm giving two stars). My biggest problem was the older woman working who was carting strawberries. She walked, straight forward into my cart while my 2 year old was sitting in it and my 4 year old was standing in front if my cart. Didn't apologize, didn't ask me to move. I looked around and even another employee made a face at her. After that, I went into the deli section and it didn't seem like any of the woman knew what they were doing. They got prices wrong, orders wrong and I was 3 numbers away from being helped. I love Monnette's, but I will not be going to this...
