Picked up a couple consoles from Redd's and of course I had to get home and fire them up. He did give the advice to clean the cartridges before playing. I'd intended on doing so anyway but it was nice to have that information if I were someone who didn't know any better. Anyway, I put my original Mario/Duck Hunt in and it fired up in all it's 8-bit glory. I checked the Genesis console with Altered Beast. Cleaned the cartridge before putting it in and it fired up just as beautifully. I noticed the C-button wasn't working properly so I turned it off and didn't think much of it. Went back to play some more Mario and the console light starts flashing. It wouldn't work. Well, with my purchase I got a 30-day warranty. Took the NES and the Gensis controller back. He said leave it and he'll either fix it or replace it. I came back a few hours later picked them up and tried them out. Both are working perfectly and I couldn't be happier about it. Oh wait, I can because he gave me an additional Genesis controller on top of it. He was extremely knowledgeable and super personable. I will be doing further business there on the...

I recently visited Redd's Retro, & I can confidently say it's a hidden gem for anyone who loves vintage gaming, vintage movies, vintage electronics & a lot of miscellaneous vintage items. The selection of retro consoles, games, & memorabilia is absolutely astounding! It’s clear that the owners truly care about preserving (gaming) history. It was like stepping back in time to the golden age of gaming—complete with arcade machines to relive those unforgettable childhood moments! The prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality & rarity of the items. The staff is always ready to offer recommendations, repair broken consoles amongst many other miscellaneous items. I highly recommend Redd's Retro to anyone looking to buy, sell, or just reminisce about the golden days of gaming. It's not just a store; it's a community hub...
Read moreI'm not one to normally leave reviews, positive or negative, but this has got to be one of the worst game stores I've ever been to. You're gonna find better prices on retro consoles at Gamestop, and thats saying something. Furthermore, half or more of the stock is notably poor quality reshells, at 200+% what you can get on ebay(not to mention ebay actually having consumer protection in case you aren't satisfied.) As to the game selection itself, its notably bland and overpriced. Honestly surprised to see that many duplicates of various showelware titles in one place, though it does give the illusion of variety at a first glance. The employee (owner?) seems chill, but this is no way to run a business. If you're gonna upcharge, you either need premium product, or stocking an imense variety of product. TLDR; save your time and take your money...
