Extra Space Storage — Local services in Tolland

I've been a customer @ ESS(Extra Space Storage) For over a year now. (Rafael) was my Onboarding Specialist (Great,Job!) (low rates via internet) Jalisa was the 2nd Manager (Great Job) as Well! 3rd Mgr. CarriAnn....Great Job ! Always willing to help! She kept the Facility clean- Smelling good and all! Hard worker, very helpful always willing to assist!

A few things I dont like, and didn't know about, Was the Price increase. within the year! its Absurd. And how you CAN'T throw away A BAG OF TRASH.

One day while cleaning out my storage and rushing out, I accidently left a bag of trash on the dolly in my area. 1hour later I received a phone call stating if I didn't come back to the Facility and dispose of it, I would receive a 200.00 Dumping Fee! If It wasn't removed immediately. By this time I had reached my destination. I had to have my son go back and get rid of it for me!! The Staff could have been a bit more Understanding, or maybe have given me a warning, to make sure it didn't happen again! But NO!

I am a good Customer to Extraspace Storage, and I didn't deserve the threat of a 200.00 dumping fee, especially since it was an oversite, and First time it ever happened due to my rushing out. For one lightweight bag of trash? A Warning would have...

Overall positive. The manager is very good at her job and takes her job very seriously. Very "by-the-book", but that's a good thing most of the time. The advertised price is affordable, but I understand that its common for them to then raise the price a couple of months after you rent the unit, so its advisable to pay the first 6 month in full at the lower rate. Other than that, I was surprised to learn that the "climate controlled" space is kept under 80 degrees in the summer and above 55 degrees in the winter. So not exactly what I was expecting. Summer will still be hot and humid in there and the winter still rather cold, but I guess for most things you are storing that should be fine. I wish the hours to access the unit were longer, even 24 hours a day. I was expecting to bring some items back from my mom's house to store there, and its a long trip and I wouldn't be getting there until close to midnight, but access is only between 6AM and 10PM, so I had to wait till the next morning. If a renter is able to access their storage unit after business hours when no one is there anyway, which we can today (office hours there are 9:30am to 6pm) using a code to open the gate and the exterior doors, why not let a rental access their unit...

This place was great in an emergency, the person on duty was very knowledgeable and explained every part of the process, explained when the cost would go up after the promotion, etc etc. We never had any problems with the gate or getting into the building, carts were always available for us to use, the place was never crowded I never had to cross paths with someone in the hallways.

We got 1 month for free and only had to pay the lock and activation fee, it was significantly cheaper for the elderly lady we were helping move.

I removed my lock yesterday and cleaned out the unit, I meant to call them today but they actually called me first and said they noticed the lock was off and wanted to know if I was done with the unit. This saved me time and I did not have to worry about the costs going up or paying for another month because the employees are so on top of everything that they already know.

I will only use extraspace and have for some time, I have used them 5x in the past in 3 different states now and it is a great...
