Oops Barry did it again! I went in a few days ago and picked up a very very very cool thin-body acoustic-electric Flamenco-style classical guitar. Awesome- and you can see my other review on that day's tremendous - dare I say... say it again, tremendous outcome.
Can you say, YES to the question - have you ever made an in-store purchase for something very expensive such as a specialized guitar, and had a discount so deep you thought the salesman made a terrible, job-ending quote? I can say yes and I knew you could too!
Today, a week later I bought a bass guitar and another guitars, this time an Ibanez acoustic-electric cutaway dreadnought body (steel string). I won't go into the details of the discount because of the ethics of good business, but jeepers! I have purchased musical instruments mostly in the U.S., but abroad as well, and let me say Barry Clark and his family offer customer service better than any place I have shopped.
Sounds hyperbolic, huh?
I saved a ton today and I have to admit I'm a little giddy about my purchases today. Man, oh man, no regrets on $1400+ purchase AND that's the discount pricing. No remorse in a situation where I usually come away sulking for a few days. That's another blog. As of today, there's a very nice, well-cared for Taylor hanging in the used area that I have my eye on. Barry's already asking a discounted price but I'm betting that someone with some negotiating skills will get a deep discount also, and practically run from the story thinking they just stole something. See for yourself. Say hello to Barry. Remember, if you don't see what you want just ask. His warehouse is...
Read moreStopped by Barry Clark Discount Music in Tomah 30 minutes before their closing time. Was greeted warmly by staff, and made to feel comfortable to browse.
Bought a guitar, amp, and a few other goodies. The store owner took the time to make sure the guitar and amp were in top condition and ready for sale- tuned, and without a single finger smudge or speck of dust.
The owner took the time to instruct and explain a few details on the guitar and amp, and answered all my silly questions kindly. I never felt rushed, and his staff moved with a professional sense of urgency and purpose that I still find impressive a few days later. They also ensured I had all the users/owner's manuals and booklets and packaging that I would need.
I Never felt an upsale or any pressure, and was shown a few different nice guitars and amps exactly within the budget I had mentioned.
When checking out mentioned I'd need to still buy a pick and was given a few for free. (If you're truly lucky, you might get a free blues lick or two on the house as well.)
If you're considering a drive here from neighboring area, I'd advise it's worth checking out. The staff, selection, and awesome personalities working there ensure I'll be...
Read moreI purchased a guitar from Barry Clark Music on eBay. The listing included great pictures, and very accurate descriptions of the guitar. I was very pleased when I got the guitar, and it sounds fantastic.
It came from Wisconsin which is more humid than where I am in Colorado so I let the guitar acclimate and then I put in in my case with a sound hole humidifier.
I played it briefly 2 days after I received it, and I gave it a more thorough inspection. I discovered that it had a crack near the bridge. I am not sure if it was the change of environment or if it was there before but Barry's pictures didn't show any cracks.
Either way, Barry was quick to respond, and contacted me to resolve the matter. I am really impressed! Great service, communication, and a willingness to help resolve my problem. I would not hesitate to buy another guitar from...
