Absoulate worse experience regarding buying furniture me or my family have ever had. I walked into the Toms River location 8-7-18 to purchase furniture for my new home in Columbia Missouri , we picked out $17,000.00 worth of furniture and decided to use the 6 month interest free loan which required $3500.00 down, so I wrote them a check from my business account. Before we left they had said someone will call you in the morning and let you know about the loan. (We weāre not worried our credit is over 780 each). The next morning at 9:10am on 8-8-18 my bank calls and asks about the check that was wrote for $3500 and should they let it go through. I said yes I wrote that for furniture I was buying , they approved it and thanked me for verifying. I then call my fiancĆ© and ask if he had gotten a call from the furniture store because they already cashed are check. (#1 we wrote the check contingent on fianancing so when my bank called I assumed we were approved being thatās what happens during a standard loan process) but, not the way seaside furniture does it. I then called seaside furniture and spoke to a women who stated she was just about to input our information into the system. I paused for a min and then asked what? But u already cashed my check? Iām confused we are t even approved yet? Her answer was no.. a couple hours later they call me and said u guys are approved but for only $9,000.00 so you would have to bring another $4,250.00 to retrieve the furniture. Now at this point my guard is totally up. Credits great, put $3500 down, they cashed my check already! So after talking with my fiancĆ© we decided to take stuff off the order. (Nothing we bought was order EVERYTHING was in stock) we go down to the Toms River store and immediately I ask for a manager. (8-9-18) a lady named Debbie looks at me and says āno manger hereā and turns away closes a office door behind her.one of the salesmen say āyour check bounced we donāt have your moneyā. I immediately call the Toms River police. A officer arrives and I explain to her everything thatās going on and she at the end understands my frustration due to me showing her my online banking showing the funds are now cleared and in seasides hands. Lol when the cop goes to talk to them their who story changes. Less then 15 mins after telling me my check bounced, after the cops get there now suprisingly they found the money. So they allow us at this point to take stuff off of our order. We bring the total down to the $9,000 and the down payment for $9,000 was now $1,953.33. So they ask do we want the difference of the $3,500 put on our loan or a check to us. I said a check and u can give that to us when we take the furniture. They disagreed and said you can take the furniture but we arenāt giving you a check till 5 days after the check clears. We agreed so 8-10-18 I arrive at Toms River location with one of my semis a trailer and 4 guys the unload store and load my trailer. Ok so
8-7-18 : picked out furniture 8-8-18 : check is cashed (my refund check was supposed to be mailed to me from this date) 8-9-18 : arrive at store to change order 8-10-17 : arrive to pick furniture up Fast forward to 8-15-18: I called Toms River location and they now told me no sir your not getting a check for 7-10 days after check cleared I said ok today is the 7th day over the check to new address. Debby hangs up on me!! 8-16-18 I call back and again ask for a manager Debb answers and says āthere isnāt oneā hangs up on me again.8-16-18 called and they told me Debb is on vacation And sheās the only one that can write checks.
8-18-18 I emailed Debb and confirmed the new address and asked for her to email me back with a tracking number when she sends check out.
8-19-18 Debb emails me back and says you will have your check by Friday I was on vacation we just need the owner to sign it.
8-20-18 called and they said owner will be in tomorrow , I said ok thanks.
8-23-18 still donāt have check!

Since it was a Saturday we were told that it would be taking off the floor and sent to the delivery warehouse by Tuesday the latest and that the ottoman was on backorder. We went back somewhere around a week later and ordered a bedroom set and we noticed that the couch was still on display. We asked when it would be sent there they couldn't give us a definitive answer and we reminded them that we were moving into a new house very soon. Our salesman ( forget her name ) assured us we would get it it by the time we were originally told. We believed her. I wound up having to go to the store about a month later and pick up the couch so we had somewhere to sit at our house, still no ottoman tho. We then proceeded to buy a bedroom set which they told us was also on backorder and it usually takes 6-8 weeks. The 6-8 weeks comes and goes and the only response we got on well over 20 phonecalls to the company and warehouse was it's still on backorder I will call you back. Main person who we spoke with was Tammy from the warehouse, she is horrible at customer service and her job. After the 120 days where we could cancel it without having to pay the 30% restocking fee, I called to cancel it and the lady who answered the phone ( not Tammy) was very apologetic. The very next day they called to miraculously tell me the bedroom furniture was in and they would take off $1,000 if we changed our mind. We didn't seeing as we got a bedroom set from Bob's, which we got less than a week later. Shockingly we received the refund check in a prompt timeframe. This whole ordeal went from early March to mid June.
Back to the ottoman which we still haven't received. We called them up regarding it several times from the time we cancelled the order til today ( 8-2- 2017) and got the same answer of let me look into it and we'll call you back. Today, my fiance actually gets ahold of Tammy and tells her that we said we would pick it up, which we never said. Tammy would not let my fiance talk and when she asked Tammy if she could talk Tammy said no and hung up on her. When she called the store back, she got another woman who said Tammy was busy and when she told the other lady that she just got off the phone with Tammy, the lady said Tammy doesn't want to talk to you and hung up. She tried calling back and the line was busy. I then tried calling back 6 times in a 10 minute span and got the busy signal each time.
The place severely lacks customer service skills and Tammy needs to be removed from her position of authority. I will never recommend this place to anyone.
Go to Bob's, better selection, nicer stuff, and more reasonably priced.

It was āmade to orderā, I picked out fabric and after much deliberation and with the adamant āexperiencedā advice of the sales associate, to make sure that I was choosing something that was durable and wouldnāt show ware and tare so easily. I went through all of the different grades and was assured that the grade of material I was choosing would fit for my needs. When we received the couch, it was an immediate disappointment as the cushions were severely pancaking within 3 weeks and with little usage. Every time we sat down, weād roll to the center of the couch. We couldnāt have more than one person on it at a time. And even with one person, it was so uncomfortable⦠as the seat cushions would make you roll to the center, the back cushions slide behind the seating and pushed you forward. No one in my home is of a large build or heavy in weight. The quality was not acceptable, especially compared to the floor models which did not have this problem, in either store. After a long, drawn out debate and deliberation with their customer service rep, that ended with me being very upset to get results, they replaced the seat cushions with a better quality at no cost. They wanted me to pay for new ones⦠I was absolutely not agreeing to do that after paying so much for the piece already and their floor models were not representative of the product I was sold. I didnāt want them to come to stuff the back cushions, as I was annoyed about the battle to address the seating. So I handled it myself. Fast forward to now, the fabric is awful. It pilled horribly when I washed the covers. I specifically asked for a grade of fabric that wouldnāt do that. That would be acceptable over time, but not first wash. The fabric is completely pilled and frayed in spots. I had to discard the throw pillow; they were made of the same fabric. The brand of this couch is England Furniture. The sales associate proudly boasted that Lazy Boy owns this company and they stand behind the quality. In retrospect, Iād 100% buy Lazy Boy direct and throw this couch in the garbage if I didnāt already spend $2000.00 on it. Overall, Seaside furniture failed in product knowledge and customer service.
