This review is based on tonight's dinner (4-23-24) and dinner approx 1 month ago. I am 63, and have lived in Ocean County for the past 50 years. I have eaten at The Bandwagon- "Mr. Breakfast" several times while still in HS and into my mid 20s. Then a few times in my 30s and perhaps my low 40s. Now I have been here twice since the re-model. Points worth mentioning: Dinner a month ago- I had the liver. I requested that the waiter instruct the chef to please not over cook it. He did the opposite
I ordered Hot tea with milk on the side, the waiter brought the tea without the milk, he said he would be right back. I watched as he went to another table with 4 people, he took their order first then went up front. He returned a few minutes later with 4 soft drinks on a tray and my metal container of milk, he delivered their drinks first. My tea was already on it's way to being cold.
Tonight: I found out no lamb anywhere on the menu. Nor crab cakes, other than a single crab cake w/hollandaise for breakfast. They were able to give me 2 crabcakes without the hollandaise, which was ok. They were out of the first appetizer I asked for, then the 2nd AND the 3rd. I settled for chicken tenders.
I was happy to see they had bread pudding. Small portion, so I ordered 2. It was served ICE COLD. This was the first time I've had it out where it was served cold and not warm. Disappointed.
I am disabled. I have mobility issues, but also respiratory/cardiac. There are only a couple of handicapped parking spots, which are on the side of the building. Which is a longer walking distance. No help for me.
They have to go containers and bags, however the bags are not gusseted. So when I ate here a month ago, wanted to take the rest of my liver home, the pan juices leaked allover the place.
Suggestions for the restauranr owners: Use gusseted bags Serve the bread...
Read moreWe dined in for our granddaughter’s birthday. Our food was good but our waitress seemed to have a hard time understanding us. She forgot my salad, she brought my husband the wrong soup, and she was not on top of refills. We were still nice enough to tip her because she seemed to not understand us well. We made two to go orders for our sons. We did not go straight home and we didn’t look at the order until we got home. We had ordered Mac n cheese bites which were good. We ordered a pastrami panini and got pesto chicken which my son hates so he had to go out and get himself dinner. We ordered a pizza burger for my other son and it was literally a burger with no pizza sauce or cheese. We thought the food was pretty good when we dined in but now we are so disappointed in what has happened. We called them when we got home but they were closed. We plan to reach out tomorrow to see if they fix this. I will give an updated review when we find out how they handle this matter. At this point I feel so bad that my sons are hungry and terribly disappointed!
UPDATE: I spoke with the manager who was very nice and he took my name and will give us a discount the price of the two meals at our next visit. He apologized and explained the waitress is new. Because of this and the quality of their food, I recommend...
Read moreI’ve been coming to this restaurant for a long time, and it has always been such a wonderful experience. Recently, the place was taken over by the new owner, Kadir, and his son Haktan, and they’ve continued the tradition of excellence while adding their own warm and welcoming touch. Both of them are incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely care about their guests, which makes every visit feel special.
The service is one of the main reasons I keep coming back. Omar, one of the waiters, goes above and beyond — not only is he professional and attentive, but he also makes you feel like a friend. He greets everyone with kindness and always makes sure the dining experience is smooth and enjoyable.
The food is another highlight. Everything is always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. What I especially love is that they constantly update their menu with new items, which keeps things exciting and gives me something new to look forward to each time.
Overall, this is truly the best restaurant in Toms River. From the welcoming atmosphere created by Kadir and Haktan, to Omar’s exceptional service, to the consistently fresh and delicious food, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s rare to find a place where you feel both like a valued customer and a friend, but this restaurant delivers that every...
