Our vet is right around the corner from this location and we're always going there so we've made quite a few stops here. The Cafe is always empty and I've never seen it busy no matter what time we've gone. That usually tells me something. That the food isn't good or it's overpriced. But I still like to support local businesses so I gave it a few tries. After our last visit we're pretty much done. The mac and cheese was awful. The nachos were basically just chips with a few veggies and very little cheese. The house made Burger was so bland and tasteless. It sucks because all their burgers are housemade bean burgers or something. Seriously it's 2024 no one wants a bean burger. I guess they can always impossible or beyond because they keep saying they're organic which I guess if they say they are there's no way of knowing. Honestly I forget some of the other stuff we had eaten there it just was so unimpressive it doesn't really matter.
I would suggest to keep driving a few more miles to Papa ganache which is not that far away. They're a bakery and a cafe and their chef is absolutely amazing. We would alternate between these two and will no longer be doing the alternating.
Also the sticker shock of their prices was jarring. Lunch for two people was...
Read moreThe frozen veggie burgers were microwaved for too long and were tough to chew. There was so much lettuce and sprouts on it, that the oddly cut toppings squeezed right out before I could get the first bite. We opted for the additional fries for $3 and were immediately sorry as they were barely cooked on the outside and hard and raw on the inside.
I'm not surprised that none of the staff bothered to check on us while we were eating as that can't go well for them when they do.
I don't bother with juices as that is the biggest nutritional scam out there right now, but as they don't require cooking, maybe Ocean Organics can do decent job of throwing raw vegetables into a blender in a passable fashion.
Worst vegetarian food that I've had anywhere. The prices match what I would pay in Manhattan, but I wouldn't eat it if it was free. Save yourself the bad experience and go anywhere, but Ocean Organics. Just because there aren't many vegetarian options in Ocean County doesn't mean that you need to eat such a poorly...
Read moreThe Spicy Sausage Breakfast Sandwich (with coconut bacon addition): 5 minutes ago, I wanted to capture a photo of this magnificent sandwich I just purchased. I was in awe of its beauty and perfection. Perfectly toasted bagel, creamy cashew cheese, tender and smoky coconut bacon, and a runny scrambled vegan egg. Whoever hand crafted this sandwich was an artist, a visionary, a seer. As I gazed upon what felt like the secret to the universe, I realized even the onions were placed in a sacred geometrical pattern. The tomato perfectly centered. I stopped to consider the beauty of a meal so expertly crafted. These ingredients were pure, whole, minimally processed, if barely at all. Yet, here lies before me an exquisite representation of a classic sammy built by loving and intentional hands. 5 minutes ago I wanted to take a photo of this masterpiece, only to realize it was already gone.
RIP the best organic vegan...
