On Nov 10, I went for a session of physical therapy for my hand. While I was completing the forms, the nice receptionist, Lucy, (if I recall the name correctly) informed me that my insurance would not cover the visit with the physical therapist that I was assigned. She was really nice and insured me that she would contact the doctor at ONS who prescribed my treatment in other to work out an equivalent therapy with other therapist covered by my insurance at ONS. NEVER heard from Lucy or anyone else after this encounter. I wish she would had been honest and said that I needed to contact my doctor and work something out. She lied to me. They have some good therapists but they are much more interested in insurance than good care. They Informed me late on a Friday afternoon that I needed a referral for a Monday appointment. ( I had been seeing a therapist for the prior six weeks).
Rather than taking responsibility that they would not extend the courtesy of seeing me anyway and give me the time I needed to get the referral. (48 hours) required by my internist. I could not postpone Monday’s visit because the physical therapist I was seeing was going on vacation. Their priorities were clear.
