Get RID of the girl at Meals2Go! She is SLOW and doesn't belong on that register. Sorry, it's the truth. Today was my second time I was there on my lunch and it took my entire lunch because of her. She was taking a phone order which took FOREVER and then when she was in middle of taking mine, the phone rang again after she asked me what kind of frosting for the cake I was ordering. She picks the phone up without hearing my response and without saying anything to me and she proceeds to take the order while I am standing there!! I guess I have to call to be priority! Throughout the ordering process she was extremely distracted- I had to tell her the color frosting 3 times because after the first time she asked, she was listening to the people next to her and literally turned to listen to them. I said the color again so it reminded her she was taking my order again and then she goes, "what was the color?" Are you kidding me?!! Also had to direct her through the cake images which was a nightmare so I just got roses for a baby shower because I didn't want to deal with showing her how to work her own computer!! 3 other managers were also present and just stood there staring at the chaos. Put her somewhere else!!! These are...
Read moreI had to get a copy of a Sunday newspaper with a specific obituary in it for an out of town relative. I had forgotten to pick one up on Sunday and went in Monday thinking I would probably be out of luck.
They were in fact gone already, but a manager: Bryan was beyond helpful. He stopped what he was working on, made every effort to track one down in the store and then called another store to see if they had one. After confirming they did, he told me to stop by tomorrow and it would be behind the service desk. I told him I could go and pick it up and not to bother himself, but he insisted and the next day the paper was there.
Bryan and a couple other employees went above and beyond to help me for no other reason than: I was in the store and they are good people.
The interesting thing is, I lost my mother the week prior, and she always LOVED Wegmans in a very special way. No other grocery store existed for her. This treatment I received just goes to show the caliber of their employees and the values...
Read moreThis is the best Wegmans these days. I grew up with the ER Wegmans (Fairport road), and I always loved the retro layout. In recent years, I was geographically tied to larger stores, like Eastway, Holt road, and Amherst. Those stores were nice, but chaotic.
Discovering the Newark Wegmans when we moved out here was a refreshing surprise. There are never insane lines, it's never overwhelmingly crowded, and the staff is top notch. You can tell they take pride in their work there, and are always polite. Specifically, we often notice Charles, who must be a manager up front, always moving with a sense of purpose and helping out in different areas. For example, today the line was about to be 3 people deep, which compared to most locations is nothing, and he jumped onto another register when he noticed, to alleviate the wait for the customers, and any strain on the employees.
It's definitely nice to have our neighborhood grocery store feel so personal...
