Well it's my first Aldi experience.
I didn't really know what to expect. I am just so happy that they have transformed this shopping center with their existence.
The old Pathmark was an eyesore forever. I can't remember what the parking lot looked like even though I remember it wasn't good. They repave the entire thing from end to end for this. It now has designated lines you could see clear's day. For that fact alone they gets five stars for community service!! Lol 🤣
Okay so store wise. I am skeptical though as the store is only open till 8:00 p.m. Many days I can't even make it there by 8:00 from work. So I just couldn't go.
Today I got there at 7:30 with a half hour left. I go to get a cart. And they're locked together??? Like at the airport you have to put a quarter in to get one. I have a quarter on me. But but luckily some good Samaritan left one right there with the quarter still in it. Thank you wherever you are.
So I went inside only really get some greens. And I was surprised somewhat pleasantly. It's a little weird at first you know everything's just in boxes like a box store cut open and their own brand of food. But the price is for many many things are low by a dollar or more each. Something's not.
I was also shocked at the minimal size of the store. I thought I was going to be much bigger. But after a few minutes you realize it's all just to keep cost down. there aren't enough cashiers by other store standards there's not enough people workin the floor compared to any other store I've seen.
It's just to keep the cost down and they do. $2.34 for a dozen eggs alone is worth a stop.
When you do get to the cashier here there's no bags. No bags you got to bring your own. Or use the cart to ferry things. Which is really fast. The cashier's sitting seats and they just beep beep beep and slip them right into the cart fast. It's a direct conveyor belt right into the cart. Then on the back wall. Is a big flat giant table that's the length of the place. You take your groceries over there and bag them if you want out of the cart.
Now I know why it is only two cashiers It's fast no bagging means fast.
Well I didn't think I was going to be stopping here but I can get there by 7:30 consistently this may be one of my new stores for certain things. It's on the way home.
Thanks for cleaning up part of Ronkonkoma. I hope you do...
Read moreWhen I lived in Cali, I went to Aldi's all the time. Now in NY, I was not shopping at Aldi's often because they were so far away. Now that a new location opened just arround the corner. I am having a hard time shopping there, because I always wind up going to two stores to get all the idems I need. For example, I needed green cut beans, cream of chicken soup. and grilled chicken strips (the fully cooked 22 oz. bag). They had all but the grilled chicken strips that I needed so I had to go to the other guys store to get that. Lol if you know what I mean. Disapointing. the manager said they don't carry the Grilled Chicken strips. Then I just looked on the Aldi's website and whala there it is. But we couldn't find it when I was in the store. Niether could the manager. Oh yeah, and the amount of cashiers is an issue 7 out of...
