Had my dress hemmed and altered last year, I got married 10/22. The dress was poorly altered my shoulder straps were so tight after repeatedly telling her this she argued with me saying I was wrong. So much going back and forth with her she doesn’t listen to what you want. For my last fitting I had just walked out but turned right around to grab my wedding shoes I had left inside. She locked the doors and wouldn’t answer. After getting her on the phone she had said she was home when I just left a minute ago. My wedding shoes were $1300 and I wanted them but she refused to let me inside and continued to lie and say she was home. Her alterations take forever to do she had my dress for months and stills didn’t have the button for my train sewn on. The day of my last fitting she said she would see it quickly so I said okay. I went to try on bras to go under my dress and my sister and I noticed the button for the train we not centered lol. I had to go to Filomena’s in Coram (who was great she fixed the button and my straps giving me more room to be comfortable). None of my bridesmaids went to Maria for any alterations since she’s so disorganized and will argue with you and do what she wants lol Plus she doesn’t accept card, Venmo, Zelle, cash app, just cash which is...

I wish I could rate 0 stars. I brought my bridesmaid gown here for alterations and was extremely disappointed with both the quality of the work and the way my concerns were handled. The slit in the front of the gown was sewn incorrectly, causing the fabric to bunch, the side strap was shortened so much that it cut into my neck, and the back zipper and seam were noticeably off-center. The fit was so distorted that part of my chest was exposed. When I expressed my concerns, rather than offering to make things right, the seamstress blamed my body instead of acknowledging the mistakes. She also failed to remove an attached scarf that was clearly listed on my invoice. I left with an unwearable dress and having to pay rush fees for another seamstress to fix her mistakes. I would not recommend Maria for formal alterations — the quality, fit, and professionalism were far below...

Ruined a pair of pants. Do not bring expensive clothes to this shop. Dropped items off, said it would be done in a few days, I called a week and a half later to see if I can pick up and she said they weren’t done, to please pick them up the next day. Well, clearly she rushed the job all my pants were too short and a beautiful pair knit pants were not properly hemmed…you could see the gigantic 2 1/2 inch line where she sewed them. Not only did they look ridiculous they were all puckered. When I brought them back to show her she argued with me and would not rectify the situation by at least giving me part of my money back.
