Yes it's changed. Adding for review of 2/27/23 Details here which mgr/owners taje note. ~3 of us out for his birthday. Upfront I told waitress & motioned to waitress (after they did for 2 others) this. She picked out -cheesecake which he found delish & cute syrup writing 'happy'. Appetizers were good-baked clams, muscles, steak tidbits w/fried onions. - The steak was little too done which made it little tough which was disappointing as its my favorite. +Fried onions w/dish perfect. Entree #1- Shrimp parm which was excellent as is their sauce. Side was fried onions Idky but weren't as good as ones had w/appetizer maybe juices from steak? Entree #2- Veal Samtiboca which had bed spinach & prosciutto was excellent- nice tender. -Comes w side which could be macaroni BUT she said couldn't get it as penneallavodka (for some reason) had to order 1/2 size dish of it. *That's NEVER been before even if we say if it's couple more dollars. +It was excellent though. -so picked sweet potato for the side which was HORRIBLE! It was disgustingly burnt entire outside (see pic on plate on side) that's kitchen fault & waitress saw it obviously it should have been taken away;brought new one. I did say something right then but she didn't offer, he did tell her/showed her later the plate of charred burnt layers. -Nice to come with little serving brown sugar type butter on side except was frozen.(same for butter w/bread) Entree #3 shredded pork sandwich. --There was NO way could eat it by way of picking up with its bun as it was swimming in liquid (not just enough to be moist but can pickup to eat) so he hated it & taste personally-didnt eat it. -there was a breadbasket: couple pcs bread & w/3 garlic type knots(1 tiny) usually it's very nice basket & tasty. Instead it was cold/hard w/frozen butter packs. ~Sat right away even with them being busy with party in back room & some big tables. 3 of us/3 menus lucky 1 she saw had food on it & gave another (really need to wipe them in between customers) Waitress was good, tried we appreciated her honesty that entrees were taking little longer to cone out. But a negative is eating without having enough of your drink (2 of us same icetea) & was trying to get refills -she saw we were almost done, said she would bring more but it was quite awhile -both us had 0 left. She bought out 1 small carafe then of ice tea which ONLY filled up half our glasses so had to ask for more= wait more. We have eaten here many times & had party here as well.
MGR/OWNER: We understand staff shortages BUT everything should be up to par as well! WHY wouldn't you have the one sitting you also help out??? Seems waistful her waiting there & doing what else - why can't she at least wipe the menus (comment about dirty menu) get first drink orders to help the wait staff. I see the manager she is always working her tail off. IMO it was overly priced now & I take in account inflation but with that more should be done to make sure is edible, shouldn't have to now pay for separate half dish penne alla vodka even though macaroni is one side comes with veal dish. Add a dollar or so but this is not necessary. Then pick was sweet potato overly burnt crisp that had to chip it all away. Didn't have any salads/soup Nor any alcohol (had 2 icetea & coke) 3 for $160 before tip to not ALL be cooked perfect is not acceptable. There's a lot great places on LI & if not up to par for the $ customers go elsewhere & leave reviews as such. They needed more staff on for sure (Didn't take away from us still giving her decent tip)
Ate here half dz times 7/11/19 latest.. excellent every time! Our new fav Italian place locally. This X brought my son & parents too. We never have dessert simply so full! Always leftovers to go home which reheat well. 1st X tried steak tid bits w/fried...
Read moreI'm just going to give the narrative to the best of my ability and then offer some recommendations to the establishment.
The story happens like this. Call to make a take out order, a very polite young man answers the phone and takes my order. Says, "your food will be ready in 15-20 minutes." Twenty minutes later my wife and I arrive and I go in to pay for the food, the hostess greets me and says it will be another five minutes and takes my card for payment. So I stand for five minutes and as I am standing, I overhear the hostess telling one of the servers, "One of the other takeout customers grabbed the wrong order."
As I begin to grow impatient, I walked back out to the car to converse with my wife and get some fresh air. Five minutes later I walked back inside and the hostess says, "It'll just be another couple more minutes." The next couple minutes were filled with an uncomfortable silence as I stood in the entrance, waiting. I began to speculate IF IT WAS MY FAMILIES ORDER that had been given to the other customer, I also witnessed the hostess take a closed take out order to the kitchen. She returns and says, "Im very sorry for the wait the kitchen burned your burger and had to re-cook it." This didn't make me feel any better about the wait and it actually made me more hungry. I waited for another 10 minutes and the phone rang. The hostess picked up the phone and said, "Yes, we attempted to call you but were unable to get ahold of you."
It had been about 20 minutes. It was at this time that I knew that the hostess had lied to me, that the customer on the other end of the line had just arrived home and opened up my families food on the kitchen table and was now calling to inquire, how this happened and how nobody called them. It also dawned on me that I had been lied to and that my burger was not burned, my entire meal had to be reconstructed from scratch. As this was unfolding, a lady appeared carrying my families food and handed it over to me, I expect it was the manager/business owner. She never apologized for the wait because I guess the entire establishment was under the impression that real problem was the family that made it all the way home with wrong food, because I believe the hostess just swept me under the rug as she had attempted to sweep her mistake under the rug. The manager handed me my food and got on the phone as I walked out the door. No apology, just a 30 minute wait and a bag-o-lies.
I have a few recommendations for the establishment:
Keep a better eye on the front end of your restaurant, your hostess is ruining your business, take the time to train her. If she makes a mistake, she can comp a customer by recommending that they have a beer on the house, take 10% off their order, or both!
Have your cooks actually eat the food that they make, it was mostly unpalatable but the mac and cheese was...
Racist, rude, liars. Been there in total about 5 times. I was very disappointed with the last two times I went. The food y’all served was old, I ordered. Ceaser salad and the lettuce was brown and soggy. I also ordered the calamari and the breading was falling off and tasted like it sat in the fridge for a week. The shrimp parmigiana was flavorless and cold, tasted as if the chef just put it together and barely cooked the shrimp and the cheese looked moldy and had a very odd stench. I decided to eat everything and didn’t say anything. I went back about 2 months later ordered the same exact things off the menu and when it came to the entree the waiter told me they were out of almost everything on the menu. Which I found very suspicious for an Italian restaurant on a Sunday night to run out of ingredients. I decided to call off my cell phone to order the same thing the waiter told me that they were out of and the lady on the phone told me that the meal would be ready to be picked up in 15 minutes. While I was sitting there talking to my girlfriend about how rude, nasty and racist these people seemed to be the hostess who seats everyone asked the waiter if the order that I placed on the phone was almost ready. Me and the waiter locked eyes and I noticed he was in shock because he had told me that they were out of the ingredients and that someone had placed the same order over the phone. The waiter rapidly ran to the kitchen after he noticed I heard the hostess ask if the pickup order was ready hence it was the same thing I tried ordering at the table. Minutes later I got a phone call on my cell phone saying “sorry that is not available, would you like to order something else?” After they realized I was the same person at the table that called on the phone. Extremely rude, racist and terrible service. If you are of color whether you are black, Spanish, Asian or middle eastern TAKE PRECAUTION EATING AT THIS RESTAURANT BECAUSE THESE PEOPLE DON’T TREAT US AS THEY WOULD TREAT THE...
