Planet Fitness — Local services in Town of Clay

Overall I'm very happy with this gym and was thrilled to have a location closer to my home. However, the newness is wearing off now having been established for a bit. I know this particular location has no control over the "Crowd Meter" but the meter on the app is completely inaccurate and useless so I use the old school method of observing how many cars are in the parking lot to gauge the capacity. My main complaint is the cleanliness of this location. Not being a 24 hour location I would expect the gym to be spotless when they open. Many things are obvious to me... No one is cleaning thoroughly before closing or just after the gym closes, They have no overnight cleaning crew, and the opening crew at 5:00am is not motivated enough to do it right away. So they choose the least opportune time to do the cleaning they are inevitably instructed to do. I come in during the weekdays around 7:30am, sometimes earlier and the bathrooms are horrendous! Smell like urine, poop splatters on the toilets (hardened) Not removable by flushing. The showers are dirty and sometimes have bandaids laying near the drains. This morning the desk attendant decided it was a good time to scrub all the showers at 8:30am.. So once again I didn't get to shower before work. This has happened multiple times and I'm not going to jump in there A) While he's trying to clean them, and B) knowing they're dirty (because he's just now cleaning them). The desk attendants are clearly bored and need some structure from Management. Lastly, Very often the paper towel holders are empty and I have to wander around to find a full one to be able to wipe my equipment. Not enough reasons for me to abandon ship just yet.. I have been lifting weights for over 45 years. From Bodybuilding to Powerlighting and I was a Personal Trainer for years. I been to so many gyms over the years. Planet Fitness is the Perfect gym to stay in shape or for a complete lifestyle change. That is why I joined. Newly opened all brand new top of the line equipment. The best I ever have used or seen. So many bikes, Treadmills, Elipicals and that type of equipment you will never ever have to wait to use one. Same with the weight machines. At least 25 or more large screen televisions, there is just to much to explain. Brayden is an outstanding employee and trainer, if not for him I would not have joined. I was there the day before and asked questions and looked around. Came back next day to sign up, I was pretty much told to go home and sign up online and download the Planet Fitness app. I was about to walk out and I hope i spelled Brayden name right. He said I will help you and he did and examined so much more about the gym besides the workout equipment and very low prices on different memberships. By that employee willing to help out in just 2 days I got them 2 new members. It spreads I mentioned this to the manager about her employee. That is how you run a business. Don't be lazy and unhelpful.The only thing I will ad that if you are a powerlifter or a hard core lifter this gym will not suit you for sure. 5...

March 2025 I have been a member for almost 3 years. I have a few friends who joined and we meet to do cardio. I get good work outs and since I have the black card I like getting a massage each time I go in and also use the total body infrared machine. I'm trying not to tan as I will be 60 soon and don't need anymore sun damage. If I do tan I will use the hybrid tanning machine that's both infrared and tanning.

2022 I have been a member of the Clay Planet Fitness for a year. I recently upgraded to the Black Card and love it even more. The tanning, massage chairs and body enhancement are all wonderful. I have been going to or have worked at various gyms over 40 years. Planet Fitness has everything I could ever need in a gym. While on vacation we went to Planet Fitness in Florida and my husband was my guest thanks to the Black Card. When I need to visit Dad on one side of town I can go to Planet Fitness in Westvale. If my husband has his cancer treatment I can go to N Syracuse or Dewitt. All 3 of the other clubs have arc trainers so it makes going to the other clubs more exciting for me for cardio as I usually use the ellipticals and other various machines that are provided.
