Ethan Allen — Local services in Town of Colonie

My wife and I stopped in to Ethan Allen on a Sunday afternoon looking for a coffee table. We were just starting to look had no intention of purchasing that day. A saleswoman approached us and asked if she could help. When we stated that we were just browsing. She couldn't take the hint and proceeded to ask us about the style of our house, how much room we have, our other furniture, etc. We entertained a few of her questions but then told her we were really just looking and proceeded to move on. As we were heading for the door, she approached us again and began peppering us with more questions, including asking us for our name and address. We asked why she needed that information and she huffed and stormed off.

I know the Ethan Allen salespeople bill themselves as interior decorating consultants, but we were not looking for that. Some people just want to come in and buy one piece of furniture. We purchased our bed frame at Ethan Allen about a year ago and had a much better experience, but we've run into this woman twice now at this store and both times she has been pushy and rude. We will not be going back to this...

Beware of the scam! We ordered a substantial amount of furniture from this store. Paid for extra warranty. Within a month or so, the finish on the tables started to rub off revealing the wood. We have had furniture from TJMaxx that was better quality. We figured we would wait until it got to the point where the claim needed to be submitted. Finally, with extreme damage to the table, we submitted the claim. The warranty clearly provides that the finish is covered. This store sells you the warranty on their products and clearly state that all items are covered for any reason whatsoever. The warranty information provided to you also states that. Unfortunately, the table we ordered and spent thousands of dollars on along with the extended warranty (which clearly was "covered") was not. The warranty company refuses to help. The store refuses to help other than send us the name for someone that we can hire ourselves to fix their defective table. DO NOT BUY HERE. Management ignores you. Save your money, save the hassle. Yesterday my new loveseats arrived and I LOVE them.They have transformed my living room. While in the store I worked with Steven picking out the loveseats and fabric. He was incredible patient. I finally picked the fabric that I thought would work. Steven could tell that I was not 100% sold on the fabric and offered to come to my home. At first I declined but then he reassured me that he was happy to come. Boy was I glad Steven persisted. What I had picked out was all wrong and Steven helped me pick out the perfect fabric. My living room looks amazing. While Steven was at my house he suggested that I have my dining chairs reupholstered in a similar fabric. He even recommended a great upholsterer. Steven is a great designer. He has great ideas because he listens to what you are saying to him. He gets you to where you want to be. Thank you Steven. Ethan Allen is lucky...
