I came to the Fishkill store 9/1/21, the day of the hurricane. I'm a woman in my 60's. It was pouring out and I was desperate for sand bags to protect my home from flooding. Finally found a stack outside in the garden area, no-one around to help. I pulled a dolly over and stacked it with 12 bags. I pushed the cart inside, passing several HD staff who looked the other way. I was doubled over, trying to get the thing to keep moving. I went to the self checkout, and at least someone helped with scanning. Then I pushed the thing out into the rain to load my car. By myself. No-one offered to help. I passed 5-10 staff, mostly men, most chatting with others, and none would meet my eye. Here's something I'd suggest the store do at the next training. Wait until there's a heavy rain, then take ALL staff outside, have each of them load twelve .5 cubic foot bags of levelling sand onto one of those dollies, and then push the dolly through the store and out to the parking lot to unload them into a car. On their own. In pouring rain. Lack of customer support comes from the top. Perhaps this stores needs a new manager. I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I was, and how angry my husband was when I shared the story with him. He was working out of town. He had suggested I get supplies from HD, "since they're so helpful." Oh - and when I contacted HD to ask for the store manager's email to send them the above, rather than post it as a review, I was told the email was unavailable. To call the store instead. Apparently, they dislike receiving emails that are less...
Read moreI was at your fish scale location to buy paint only to find nobody is working, the paint clerk was on a hour lunch break I would guarantee he didn't do a hours working all day did have a irate customer wondering why no one is mixing paint the pain manager or manager Mr Peter comes out I tried to talk to him on the side but he did not want to listen and wanted me to tell him and I told him very aggressively how I was treated by the clerk after I told his clerk about how do you leave your station unattended for 1 hour for lunch and when I told him how I felt about it aggressively he acted like a little baby and told me he wasn't going to mix any paint. I mix paint in the DMV for 40 years Benjamin Moore and never got the opportunity to tell a customer off because the only job for me to do is to get the money and my company progress so I can get a paycheck not to get in my feelings but at all of these Home Depot locations there are clerks certain clerks who don't want to do their jobs not just in paint you guys need to get this together the only reason I come in there because my wife's church has an account I will go to Lowe's any day or if they were good been more dealers in this area and not have to go all the way to Hopewell Junction I hope this message gets to the proper authorities and Mr Peter who's in charge over there should be fired. I went to another location got the paint very helpful individual in the paint department at the Newburgh location his name was...
Read moreI went there this afternoon. I just needed two cans of spray paint. Every time i go there the spray paint section is sparsely stocked. Empty spots on the shelves. There may be some on the top shelf, but you need to find someone and get them to check. Then they have to find a ladder. Not sure why it is difficult to keep the products stocked where a customer may easily pick up. I did manage to find the color spray paint that i wanted this time, however not in the proper location. At this point i would like to simply pay for for my items and go on with my day. Unfortunately , when i went to the register there was no one there. Some one was busy with a customer at the "pro desk", and some one was monitoring the self-check out , others walking around the store. After standing there being ignored for a few minutes i left the items on the counter and left. Why is there a register ,with the light on and nobody stationed there? Why is the process of finding an item on the self and purchasing it, so time consuming or difficult? Perhaps i am expecting too much. Of course some would say "go use the self-check out", but i do not work at the store .i do not get paid or discounted for ringing up my items. It is also very inefficient to use the self-ck when you are buying construction materials of all shapes and sizes. Some one should be at a full service register...
