Let me start by saying that this is a fine hotel if you need a place to sleep. The employees alone would justify a 5 star review. They really were wonderful. The beds are comfy and the rooms are spacious. Sadly half the rooms face Interstate-84 and the hotel is so close that half the rooms are too noisy to sleep in, even for a heavy sleeper like myself (seriously avoid any EVEN numbered room). Again the staff was wonderful and moved me to an ODD numbered room for my 2nd night. Also, I know it's a Hilton policy and not the individual hotels policy, but as a diamond member, we no longer get free breakfast, instead we're offered a $10 food and beverage credit per day per person (up to 2 people). With that said, the breakfast buffet is $21 each and is about half the size of a Holiday Inn Express buffet (which is free for all guests). The hot food on the buffet was also sitting on steam trays and then had heat lamps above them, so the food was super overcooked. It was a HUGE disappointment. I smartened up the second day and ordered a Breakfast Burrito from the menu for $11. It was fine, a little bland - literally just eggs, sausage and potatoes in a wrap, but at least it was cooked to order and wasn't sitting in a steam tray for hours. My other big disappointment was that upon arrival, I was informed that the pool and hot tub were out of service for maintenance. Not going to lie, I purposely picked this hotel over the Holiday Inn Express across the street because of the hot tub (both have pools). Had they mentioned online or in an email prior to arrival, I would have quickly switched hotels. Unfortunately I was doing a late check-in and only staying two nights, so I just decided to roll with it. They did tell me that I could use the pool at a hotel nearby, but I didn't really feel like trekking across the parking lot in wet swimwear in late April. Finally, and this is just a pet peeve for me, but all the light fixtures around the property are a mix of two different types of light bulbs (soft white and daylight styles). Soft whites look more like traditional bulbs with a yellowish tint to them, daylight bulbs have a slight blue tint and always remind me of hospital lights. Walking through hallways and you see these mixed everywhere and it just looks like they are buying whatever bulb is cheaper that week. Mixing the two really makes the space lose that inviting feeling that hotels are supposed to portray. Again, it's a pet peeve, not a deal breaker, but the noise issues, terrible breakfast, and lack of communication about the pool has ensured that I will not likely ever stay at this...
Read moreFront desk professional helpful and friendly. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrive a bit early but they gave us similar room just in a different floor. Rooms small with good and comfy king bed, a down/feather pillow for each side ( not comfy) desk, bureau nice tv with LOTS of channels and Netflix on the TV. Restaurant staff super helpful, refilled coffee without having to ask, breakfast buffet simple but plentiful and the bacon was crispy, the scrambled eggs soft and luscious, the home fries yummy. Housekeeping staff well- the hotel does provide a note that housekeeping is every two days - so if we wanted clean towels we had to call and request it. Housekeeping doesn’t even make your bed every day- I dont mind not changing the sheets but not making the bed is kind of disgraceful. And if you need more tissues, you have to call. Plus I was charged $6.00 for I have no idea what! Water has a hang tag saying it will cost $3.00 per bottle, so I took the one, left the tag and the bottle when I was finished and it remained in the room as I left it - no housekeeping. And I was charged $6.00. Which I did call attention to and it was removed. The hotel Was packed when we weee there with the Temple University soccer team ( they were playing Army at West Point) and they were a delight at breakfast. Plus there were several weddings in the area with guests staying at the hotel - we knew by the attractive discreet signage and the gift bags behind the front desk. The gym and pool were terrific and easy to access. And the front desk staff was hugely helpful about local restaurants, attractions and directions. Everyone working in the hotel was pleasant and said hello.
All in all, a very nice experience, except for the lack of clean towels and a...
