It’s terrible to have to leave a bad review about a business. But I gave these guys every chance to correct their wrong course, so it’s important to inform others of what they may encounter. By the end of this 6 day failed transaction I was virtually cursing out the VP of the company, that’s how frustrating this robotic dialogue was with them. First of all, all I wanted to do was buy a car (paid in full) under my corporation, that they had listed for sale on a nationwide website. Like I have hundreds of times in my past, I just wanted to send a wire and pickup the vehicle. But that wouldn’t come without a ton of unnecessary hoops to jump through. First they asked me to send a selfie with my ID, so I did, along with my credit card information. After sending such sensitive data, then things got weird, and now in hindsight, probably shouldn’t have done that so easily. They started to question who I was, and specifically wanted my personal address. Keep in mind I’m purchasing this vehicle through my corporation. This is something they stated “they’ve never seen” An out of state corporation wanting to buy and ship a vehicle across country was strange to them. What? 🤯 They then started to tell me this raised all kinds of red flags. Absolute nonsense if you ask me. Then after working up the ranks to the VP, got to the point where now, on the 6th day of trying to finalize the transaction. The VP tells me that their internal DMV team is investigating the legitimacy of my business, and this is the reason for the stall, and delay. It’s none of their business the details of my business, it doesn’t concern them and why it would even get to this point is beyond me. But looking back, given the circumstances and the runaround. All I can justify is that either the vehicle they were selling had problems or wasn’t really in their inventory, and OR they had a higher paying customer. In fact, one of the employees had told me this. But in the end after days and days of dialogue and me simply trying to buy a vehicle for cash, the deal and any potential future relationship fell apart simply because they couldn’t accept my money, and allow me to pickup the car. Which is all a car sale should be. But for some reason this dealership caused all kinds of unnecessary delays, and the only justification I can come up with, is that the car wasn’t real to begin with. Because none of this made any sense. I hope they can put things in perspective and do better with their customers in the future, because what I just experienced was outrageous, and completely unnecessary. Take your business somewhere else, because if something about you doesn’t sit well with them, they will come up with all kinds of excuses to kink the deal especially after you give them personal sensitive data. And this is simply unacceptable. What a waste of time and energy this was, and completely nerve wracking.
Update to their reply: So I called Mike and he said it was a Generic reply, that if he really could reply like he wants to it would be vulgar, and that they don’t have any intention of making it right. Wow… Unbelievable, but not surprised. I can’t believe the level of unprofessionalism from this dealership, but it clearly is handed down from the lack of good management. He also told me he will update their reply to reflect that they don’t sell cars to people that can’t verify their payments. Which makes no sense and is a flat out lie. I was going to send a wire for the full amount of the vehicle, but we couldn’t even get past stage 1 of papering the agreement because of their incompetence. Save yourself the headache and go to another dealer....
Read moreRecently, within a rather short period of time, I had the opportunity and reason to make use of White Plains Lincoln’s Service Department twice. The first time was for what I had anticipated to be a check of my 2010 Milan’s undercarriage. On a Friday afternoon, I had hit a small, yet deep, pothole on the BRP. Unlike the two cars in front of me, my tires did not go flat. Over the weekend I realized that I should have the undercarriage checked for any damage. I called on Monday and came in on Tuesday morning. To my relief, and surprise, there was no damage to any mechanical parts of the car. However, two of my rims were found to have been flattened! That required an outside contractor to repair them and it was done in a very timely manner and with full explanation. About a week later, I received an e-mail alert that my vehicle was now part of the long ongoing air bag recall. I called Service and was able to schedule my appointment within a week. I arrived in the morning and was advised that the replacement would take about two hours or so; I settled in with my laptop and made use of the coffee machine. In about two hours, the service manager came in and told me that it was taking longer that expected. He bought me a light lunch – rather nice of him. He then came back and said that it was going to take a great deal longer and that they were setting up a loaner car for me! He told me that the job would be done the following afternoon and that they would be in touch. Which it was. And the car was in great shape considering that just about the entire right passenger side had had to be disassembled in order to remove and replace the air bag! I called Lincoln Motor Company the following day – just to let them know how impressed I was with the service I had received and that I felt a bit bad for the mechanic who did the work as I am aware that recall repairs have set time and costs. I was informed that while generally that is the case, it was not in this one. Lincoln has found that there are some vehicles of certain brands that have their own difficulties in this matter. And, of course, mine of one of them! This is the second car I have bought from White Plains Lincoln and the third I have had serviced there. I have always found everyone there fair and willing and able to communicate with customers. And service is beyond reproach. I would without hesitation recommend that anyone do business with them. UPDATED Now own a 2020 Nautilus. Brought it in for seasonal tire change over. Tech found an alignment issue, small and given Winter weather and potholes remarkable, which was corrected. Also checked and down loaded updates. All in all, work well done as...
Read moreThis place was the worst customer service and scam artists I have seen in my 20 yrs of buying cars. I go there interested in purchasing a CPO Lincoln MKZ I seen online. Of course when I arrived it was not available. There was another vehicle identical to the one I was interested in. Test drove it and it had way lower miles then the one I was looking at. Upon further looking the bumper was not properly installed and ton of cosmetic scratches all over the vehicle. No problem because most dealers will work with you to fix minor problems like this to secure deal. The used car manager George says no problem we will fix bumper and fix cosmetic scratches. I put a $500 deposit down and go with deal. They say it will take a couple days. Ends up being in shop all week. Finally they say it's ready. I go to dealer ready to finalize deal. I take first look at car the bumper is actually secured. However 3 out of the 20 scratches was fixed. Not sure how that works. Anybody who knows auto body you can't fix one part of bumper but not blend other side that still has scratches. Amateur night. Now here's the kicker. Now I see that one of the tires has a gigantic gash going right though it. It's shiny because they put tire shine on this gash so it had bubbles of water coming out of it. George the used car manager comes outside and tells me "How did we not know you took this then hit a curb? Hmmm I'm gonna have to go with common sense would of told you the car has no plates still, I just pulled up and did the walk around with the salesman. Interesting as a manager you have no clue about what goes on in the cars in your lot? Magically took a car without them knowing? LMAO! Right it gets better. I'm about to walk out salesman pitches me another car. The one I originally was interested in was there. Actually in great condition. Decide to go thru with this deal now. 2 hrs later I sign deal and switch insurance over. About to walk out dealership Used car Manager comes out says hold on. Apparently says he can't sell the car someone else was ironically supposed to get it now. Tells me " Don't worry we will fix tire on original car you wanted you can get that one" Twilight zone stuff. I say No Way! The lovely manager gets irate like a kid and I walk out never to been seen in this scam dealership. Of course got my deposit back like 2 weeks later. I have pictures of this tire and deal I signed for. Also I have receipt of my deposit and refund since they tried to lie about that as well. Not only bad customer service but totally...
