Read morePretty strange experience here. I don't think I've ever written a remotely negative review, but this was just bizarre. The food was good, and the cooks/servers were very nice and clearly working hard, but the manager running the register seemed to be openly trying to rip customers off.
After watching him try to upsell customers in front of me extremely hard on additional food (to the point that it made everyone in line look at each other uncomfortably), I went up and ordered a very basic combo meal, bracing myself for a barrage of bargaining more suited to an open-air bazaar than a suburban Popeye's.
He asked if I'd like a large fries or drink and I said no thanks, the regular size is fine. He asked if I was SURE about this, and I said yes. Then he tells me that "you can do a regular fries, but it'll have to be a large drink."
I assumed he meant that he was out of regular-sized cups (not a stretch, since they were also out of a few fountain drinks and...napkins). So I took the large cup and waited for my food. It was then that I noticed I'd been charged an extra $0.90 for the large drink. Frustrating, but not a big deal. Then, I notice people after me in line getting regular sized drink cups! It should be said that most of the people there during the lunch rush were upset with this manager about something or other. It seems like the restaurant would be better off if one of the other workers ran the register, and the manager maybe facilitated orders, or handed the food to the customers.
Realistically, I'll probably be back, since I work nearby. But probably not as often as I would have if I'd had a normal first experience here. Very penny wise, pound foolish. Hopefully they can use the extra $0.90 they got from me to get some...

The two cashiers up front looked like every customer coming through the door was a burden and intruding on their personal time. The girl was having an entire conversation with the cooks in the back as I was ordering my food about nonsense, so she kept messing up my order I had to repeat it several times til she got it right. She did not give anyone receipts but kept calling out numbers as if we were supposed to know, and when I pointed out we don’t have a receipt to know our number, she told me it was my food with a roll of the eyes. When I asked for sauce to go with my nuggets she threw them in my bag like it was such a hassle. I went back to ask for Tartar sauce to go with my shrimps and the guy stared at me like I had two heads and reluctantly gave them to me. I didn’t even want to go back and ask them for napkins because I didn’t want to deal with anymore of their attitudes. The nuggets were the size of the tips of my pinky finger.
