Had a wonderful opportunity to work with Priya and her amazing team on my Mother's Birthday party.
My husband, mother and I came a month prior to the event to try the food and check out the decor. The minute we stepped inside, I knew that decor-wise Raasa was going to be perfect. We stayed for dinner... which was absolutely amazing! Flavors were perfect and the presentation was beautiful.
We decided then and there we would go no where else.
Priya, via phone calls and emails (I live far from the restaurant) planned the party for my mother in detail. I literally had no worries! She took care of everything and when I brought up concerns during the day, I found it had already been taken care of.
Her chef has attention to detail I really appreciate..every dish that was served was thought out in detail. Even a simple potato pakora had special seasoning on it that turned it from a fried potato to something amazing. Highly recommend the chicken lazeez and tandoori platter. Tandoori cauliflower and salmon are my new favorites. I didn't order this for the party but for when we had a private dinner: Chili Shrimp...wow... Lamb Rogan...meat was extremely tender and flavorful. I am not Vegetarian but the foods I ordered for my guests would have made me content to never eat meat again.
Everyone at the party had an amazing time with plenty of food and drink. The servers for the event were always smiling and took care of each person individually. I had about 30 guests for a party and feel like I didn't even lift a finger!
My post does not nearly describe how wonderful I feel Raasa is as a restaurant and for their wonderful team. I highly recommend you experience Raasa yourself.
Thank you Priya and your team , for making my Mother's birthday celebration a memorable one. My family are are already planning to come back...
Read moreThis is a three star experience for me. This is my third time there and this time I decided to actually write a review. They like to constantly come back and check on you while you’re eating - like you’re preventing them for sitting another customer when there was hardly any people ever in this restaurant. Both people are my party are handicapped and do not eat that fast - I do not consider spending a half hour eating at a buffet really that long, but they constantly come to your table and constantly refill your water if you take two sips out of it— very irritating. Additionally, if you are a slow eater and you’re not talking and you are concentrating on putting the food in your mouth and chewing it properly, they keep coming and asking you if you’re finished. No you idiot, it’s a buffet and it’s only been a half hour and there’s nobody waiting at your door so why the heck are you rushing me? So I asked if I could take the tiny little bit of food I had left on my plate because I did not like the rushed atmosphere of me stuffing it down my mouth and getting an upset stomach - I was told no I could not take it out in it to go box - so much for me trying to prevent wasting food. The food was mediocre, lacking spice, it was OK, but not great and then having to be harassed by somebody who clearly wanted us to move it along faster than I would’ve liked. my family will not be visiting here again because as far as I’m concerned, it’s not handicap friendly. Another thing you have to keep in mind is that the buffet is $25 a person and then they have the nerve to charge you for soda. We will definitely, as I repeated will not be coming here again. You had three times to make the situation better and you have not..4/6/2025 1...
Read moreRaaSa is the replacement of Malabar Hill. Malabar Hill was a wonderful place to dine out; as my wife and I frequented their establishment in Elmsford, NY. The wait staff was cordial and professional. The food was excellent and of good portion.
Today, the replacement named RaaSa, has similar food. Apparently, the quality and portion have fallen greatly from the days of Malabar Hill.
Another notable change, is in the quality of their customer service. It has been dramatically lowered. Case in point; when we ordered takeout, at the door, the young woman took the order, charged the provided credit card, requested the name and telephone number of the card holder(?) and informed us when the food would be ready for pickup. At the designated time of pickup, they never called us. When my wife went inside to retrieve the food, that was waiting, a new person, at the door asked a rather strange question; "did you pay for it?" She raised the receipt so that he could see it. And, to add insult to injury, as it were, he then asked my wife, referring himself, "do I have a copy of your receipt?" We find RaaSa's customer service to be unprofessional, insulting and stereotypical at best. We are professionals in our respective fields; I, a well accomplished and celebrated IT Professional; and my wife, an extraordinarily accomplished individual, who has earned three Master degrees and a PhD. She holds an exalted position in her industry. We are at the leading edge of society; but was treated like useless, unintelligent, dregs of society, by a people who are not indigenous to this country.
Needless to say, we will never again...
