Court is fine if you are local, but they process a lot of drivers from out-of-state due to proximity of highways going through Albany. For me it was a total nightmare-- everything must be done in person unless you don't need documents in a timely manner... Then you can use snail-mail. Their personnel constantly gave me different answers and the people with seniority who can process more complicated things all leave by 3:30... I needed court documents faxed or emailed to me to clear up a MA suspension (enacted due to reciprocity with New York's suspension) on a time crunch and they would not even mail the documents on request over the phone or fax... Lastly, they made me show up for court 3 seperate times (unnecessarily-- no action taken when I got there!) after the initial appearance after my incident. No mercy on people who live far away and don't have a license to get there! Can't they do any of the forms by fax or even...

I found the DA to be incredibly fair to everyone and willing to Work with everyone to reduce their tickets as much as he possibly could. The judge was very friendly, and actually witty and very polite to everyone. You can tell that they really care and Realize that we are all human and Make mistakes sometimes. I’ve dealt with Traffic Court in the past that has made me feel like I was a horrific criminal for getting a minor traffic infraction. I think local courts could take an example from the kind way that Guilderland...

(So mad i had to give a star to post my experience because this place deserves...
