Hannaford — Local services in Town of Guilderland

DO NOT SHOP AT THIS LOCATION!!!

I cannot stress this enough. And if you have to shop at this one…do not use self checkout.

I have terrible social anxiety. I only leave the house when i need to and quietly use self checkout almost every time. They have some like Asian/phillipino lady standing over everyone at self checkout staring you down like she’s the bodyguard of a Gucci store or something.

This woman has an awful attitude and absolutely WILL come up and watch over you and make comments to you asking if “you paid for that” and is genuinely overall SO RUDE.

I don’t even think I’ve ever left a review before. This store is so out of pocket though it’s absolutely insane. Never did I think I’d be leaving a review for a freaking grocery store. Thing is, if this was a one off random event, I would not be writing this. However, This is my experience every time I go there, After speaking with friends, family, members, and other locals It seems very frequent.

I have heard several stories Of the store Pulling people in for no reason accusing them of shoplifting.

I have never experienced anything like this at any other Hannaford I go to. It is only ever strictly been this one and scrolling through the reviews tells me this happens to like every other person.

I drive an extra 10 minutes out of my way to go to a different Hannaford just so I don’t have to deal with this checkout lady. I realized I don’t even have to do that… I can just shop at market 32.

Anyone else reading this, do yourself a favor and shop at market 32. It’s only another 4 minutes from this store and you don’t have to feel uncomfortable the whole time you’re there.

I went to Hannaford to buy groceries. The store itself was great right until I got to the checkout. The only register was open with the self serve.

Now I have a real problem with checking out myself when I come in the store I’m spending my hard earned money. I’m not there to do your job so I go over and I stand at a line of people that are all waiting to check themselves out while one woman stands her like an overseer She’s not helping anyone I finally get up to pay for my product. I insert my credit card into a machine and there’s an error. I waved a woman over for her assistance. She gives me an attitude that she tells me it must be my card. That’s the problem. So I canceled the transaction re-ring it up on my own without any of her assistance and I got to go through without any problems wasn’t the card that was the issue. It was the machine itself, but the real problem is no one in the store wants to work the registers When a customer comes in and buys a product that has a cart for the groceries for last thing they want to do is stand there and bring all the stuff up for themselves. That’s why they hire cashiers and the last thing I want to do is contend with a pretentious overseer standing there looking at everyone like...

I don't understand why the deli won't cut fresh lunch meat. Sometimes the lunch meat sitting out is a couple days old. They won't even cut something that isn't already prepackaged. I recently asked for some roast beef and they refused to cut it. It doesn't sound like much of a deli if they won't cut fresh meats and cheeses. Even Jersey Mike's will cut lunch meat for you. I know it's hard to find workers, but there is more than enough people in this store to be able to handle providing this basic service that all grocery stores provide. Lazy, this is just a purely lazy solution that favors the store over it's customers. I mean, why should I pay the same price for pre cut, old food as I would for freshly cut food. It certainly speaks to how much this store appreciates the $300 a week my family of 6 spends there, or used to spend there. At least Price Chopper or Market 32, whatever you want to call it will cut lunch meat more us. They seem more than happy to put the small amount of effort it takes to keep a customer than...
