I've waited over a week to post this to see if I would feel better, but I don't.
I went in for a nursing bra as I am a larger chested woman, 38i at last measure.
I actually visited twice.
First visit I as only shown two options. One with a wire. One without. I was sent home, and told the bra I had fit perfect, and I decided to be sure the bra was right before actually wearing it. I put it on, and tried to twist and move, and sit as I would if feeding my child (as in the small dressing room with the sales person crowding you in you can't do these things in the store), and found that moving in he garment was PAINFUL. I immediately removed the item and put it back in the bag.
Tags still attached and receipt with return policy in hand I returned to the store the next day they ere open. I explained the situation. And was told they would NOT take the garment back so I could get one that fit!!! To top this situation off she would not listen to a thing I said, and acted as though I had never worn a bra, let alone a wired bra, before in my life.
They were quite rude and told me to just get used to the bra. I pointed out that I had worn it for less time at home than I had in the store, and per their policy that was printed on the receipt I was well within my rights.
At that point I was shown multiple other bras of much higher quality and better fit, and belittled the whole time. I was also treated as though I could not afford to shop there, and that "I better make sure this bra fit. Because they would not be taking it back".
I was highly tempted to leave and let my credit card company sort out this issue as they were so rude and made it clear my business was not welcome. Had I not been in such need of a bra I would have!
I will never set foot in this shop again, I don't need to be treated as though I'm trash for expecting a shop to adhear to their written policies. Maybe if they gave space to really check comfort instead of not even letting you put on the bra yourself! It's as if they think you have never dressed yourself before. It's off putting, and annoying.
Sorry, but this is how I feel even this late after the experience. As a new mother all I wanted was to be better able to feed my child with some level of ease. From now on I will shop online and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBe 100% sure you wonāt want to return your bras before you leave the store. They will find the smallest thing wrong with the bra and refuse to take them back. I decided to splurge and get a real bra fitting. I went home with 2 bras for $141. I wore both bras around the house for maybe 4 hours each. Both were not fit correctly to me, so the underwires were rubbing my armpits and the sticking out into the front of my shirt. I brought them both back. They found a few dark pills from the shirt I was wearing one, and a thread sticking out on the other. They said both were unsellable and refused to take them back. So now Iām stuck with two bras that are very uncomfortable (letās remember that they fit me for them- I did not pick them myself). Very disappointing. I will not be shopping here again. Iāll drive to the specialty bra shop in Manchester VT from now on. Lastly, the receipt should state something about condition. I met the terms of their returns as stated on the receipt.
Edit - I appreciate the below response from the owner. I agree you should be happy with a bra before you go home with it, but itās really hard to figure out if a bra is really comfortable when only standing in the dressing room and not moving around. I guess where Iām really coming from is what are you supposed to do when youāve truly only worn a bra for a few hours and it already shows ādamageā after those few hours to the point that you are now stuck with them and canāt return them. Iād completely understand if I wore the bra throughout those 30 days and try to return them. Iāve written to the manufacturers of both bras and hope to resolve it with them. Also, you cut the tags off and keep them at the store so it almost feels like you are trapping someone into keeping the bras no matter what. A disclaimer should be added to your receipts that you reserve the right to refuse returns based...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went for a bra fitting in July. The woman was very pushy and intrusive, and refused to believe I needed a smaller band (26G). She showed me 32Ds. I was told it was the proper fit, and foolishly bought one. As soon as I nodded, the tags were ripped off (ensuring I couldn't return them) and she led me to the register. I only wore it in the dressing room. It didn't fit, so I tried to return in two weeks later. I went with a friend, who also bought two bras. Hers stretched out about 3 and 2 inches after one hand washing and airdrying. $180 gone. The lady on the phone was very apologetic, but not accommodating.
They let me exchange mine, but only had two or three 30in band options. It arrived in three weeks, but they didn't notify me. I stopped in two weeks later and picked it up. I feel cheated and unappreciated but I'm glad to be done. The band labelled 30in is actually 26in, ha! Important to note, their bras are way overpriced. You can get the same ones online (Bare necessities, Her room, etc) for...
