A friend and I went in to look for a hooded sweatshirt early on in the day. Two small, blonde, female employees and one male employee said 3 distinctive racks held hooded sweatshirts for Black Friday for $40. A great deal. I got one that was supposed to be a size 3x, that is what the hanger said. My friend bought the same one in size 2x. We check out and the cashier was going to shove both of these larger sweatshirts in one bag, however, one was my gift from my friend and the other was a gift for someone else. We asked for a separate bag since they were going in two different places. The cashier was very rude and told us no, we could only have one bag… But If I was to pay separately as another customer, a cashier would have had to give me a bag anyway! It made no sense to us and this store is not cheap, so why can’t we have one extra bag... She ended up agreeing to giving us another bag after we explained for a second time we needed one. My friend saw a gift box behind the counter and asked if he could have one for his gift, even if it had an extra cost. She then gives us the gift box but no extra bag! We left annoyed, but still happy with our purchases as we do love Carthartt stuff.. Hours went by and I decided to wear my new hooded sweatshirt but it was too small. Turns out it was a 2x item on a 3x hanger. For such a small, expensive, popular brand I would have expected the clothing to be on the correct hangers… We drive back to the store where we were greeted with a heavyset, curly haired, blonde woman wearing glasses. She brushed the issue off and said “oh it happens a lot” and chuckles. We get to the cashier who was wearing a black wig, orange hat, and long fake eyelashes, and explained our situation. She tells us we owe $5 and change. We asked how, the deal was $40, and 3 employees said so. She had a horrible attitude right away and said “the price is right on the tag.” Yes, we can read, however, when you have 3 employees pushing these Black Friday sales for $40, nobody let us know the price differential for “extended sizes” and we even read the sale signs right on the racks. No mention of price differences. The extra $5 wasn’t really an issue, but the customer service, attitudes, and incorrect products on hangers are. The employees there need to learn their sales, pay attention to sizing, and not have attitudes. I’m not sure if I would go back to this location. There are plenty of other stores that carry this clothing...
Read moreThe store itself is great. We love the Carhartt brand.. however the associates that work there.. are blatantly rude and have terrible customer service.. Specifically the associate Danielle.. she has the worst customer service I have ever encountered. The hours listed on Google, their store door and their phone number recording are all wrong.. Every single place the hours are wrong.. it's a shame that not one person has tried to have it fixed or corrected... Employees just state.. it's not their problem.. and advised me to call the corporate office. When I asked for that number the girl stated she doesn't have any idea what it is and she doesn't care to even look. Will be looking for a new Carhartt location as the Crossgates Mall one is filled with rude and poor customer...
Read moreI had seen the store previously and when my old boots needed to be replaced I traveled here and I regret that I did. The selection may be adaquete for people shopping for fashion but I buy Carhartt for function and so the inventory was inadequate especially in the boot section. Even though it wasn't busy I had to run down an associate who wasn't knowledgable or helpful and made me feel like I was a chore being there. I'm not sure if Carhartt are making a shift in their brand but this store is unorganized and your local tractor supply has a better selection and price. Not a great experience for a long time customer...
