The first time I visited the "Get Air Trampoline Park" was a number of months ago shortly after it first opened. I should have posted this a long time ago and had been hemming and hawing about it all this time. For all I know, they may have fixed the problems by now because of many other complaints from the public. But just in case, I am posting this review now because if they do not know whether something is broken then it will never be fixed. My experience the first time was so unpleasant that I have not been back since.
I am the Activities Coordinator for a program that works with students and alumni of a college program. Everyone in the program is an independent, capable adult but they require some basic supports to navigate adulthood. The Trampoline Park visits were always a popular activity, but not anymore after visiting this place shortly after its grand opening. We were looking for a new place to fill the void after the Flight Trampoline Park on Post Road had closed down.
The worst part of this experience (in my opinion) was having to deal with the waiver information on the computers. There was a glitch in the system that we were not able to fix ourselves and the only employee who knew what he was doing with the computers had disappeared for a very long time doing something else within the complex. I went over to the person at the front desk checking people in and asked him to help us (at least three consecutive times!). Each time he assured us that someone would be over to help but nobody came. One of the alumni started to get very agitated and if memory serves me correctly he stormed off for a little while to cool down. In all honesty, I was with him in spirit and nearly wanted to join him while losing my professional decorum as a staff member to shout in public, "Can someone come to &#@*ing help us already?!" At long last, the staff member returned and allowed us to get with the evening after what seemed like at least fifteen minutes had passed.
One of the alumni complained about the state of the locker area with the unsecured cubbies for our belongings. It looked like the inside of a gross gym locker room with soiled socks and papers on the floor. The other complaint is that the trampolines were unsupervised and someone was encouraged to perform flips for the camera even though that can lead to injury. While I did not witness this flaw in the complex myself, I am just going by what one of the alumni told me and they are usually honest about such things.
I understand that things are not ever going to be perfect especially when a place first opens, but this is completely unacceptable. There should have been someone stationed in that area at all times to help people who were confused or stuck due to technical errors If I wanted to be ignored or given lip service there are plenty of ways to get that treatment for free such as with online dating. It is pure insanity to actually pay for it!! On an unrelated note, I live with Asperger's syndrome and even though at the age of 37 I am able to control myself especially in public while doing my job, this place really tested my patience, and it was a very close call not to react strongly to what was going on in the complex. This place from my first impressions of it does not seem to be disability-accommodating or have the supports for people who need a little more assistance with things such as logging their information in the computer system. In the event I very reluctantly give this place another chance someday in the distant future and these problems are still prevalent, this is going to be the final straw! (Fool me twice,...
Read moreI am just leaving this facility now and I am not sure that we will be back anytime soon. As many of the other one, two, and three star reviews have said, there is zero staff anywhere to be seen outside of the front desk area.
My child is two and a half (at the time of writing anyway) and well under 46 inches. As such, we stayed in the area designated for children under 46 inches. There were several times during our one hour there were older kids running through not paying attention and almost knocking down the other children. If the area is sectioned off and labeled for children under 46 inches, then it should be monitored by an authority figure; someone who can say "get out" or, better yet, prevent them from coming in in the first place. This leads to my next problem.
The lack of parental supervision is outrageous. There were many parents just sitting around doing whatever on their phone. I understand bigger kids should need less supervision, but at the same time maybe look up here and there to make sure they are not running amok in the 46 inches or under section.
I am also not fond of the slide in that area being accessible from both the 46 inches side and the "big kid" section. This layout makes it very difficult to keep an energetic kid contained in the area. It should be one way in and one way out. This is also a risk for anyone who, call me paranoid, may want to take a random child.
Then there is the foam pit. The amount of unkept blocks in there was beyond disappointing. There were several kids who ended up getting pieces of foam in their eye just going in there, not even necessarily falling below the blocks.
There are only two positives here: (1) My kid had fun and made it out without injury, which at the end of the day is what really matters. (2) The line to get in was nothing in comparison to Billy Beez next door.
The takeaway (also known as TL;DR): Way over crowded. Zero support or supervision from staff Short wait...
Read moreWent there today 4/20 for my grandsons 13th Birthday party. (1) No communication with The workers & management when it comes to setting up for BIG party) .(50-55)pple, My daughter & son in law had ALOT of Pple come to the party, They pd for the most expensive package, I got there before my daughter, They only set up 5 tables .. When my daughter came & I told her she didn't get what she's paying for, She went to speak with the 2 party hostesses, I wish I got the famales name. because When my daughter was talking about what she's suppose to have, seating & set up. Well it was nothing but a nasty attitude from her, for WELL over an Hr. When she went to change the garbage bag from can, she basically threw the lid on the floor mumbling under her breath (2)We were told pizza will be here in 8-10min.👌fine. NOT, 45min or longer later, still waiting, some of the kids started chanting we want pizza, because we told the kids to stay up at the tables because pizza be coming soon & we all waited, finally some of the kids started asking if they can go jump. so the parents said go head & play. I can go on about a few more things with the female hostess. I'm not no 53 yr old snobby or grumpy grandmother that loves to complain about things, But I feel all staff/hostesses for parties should KNOW when someone pays for a Package Deals for Birthday parties, They should know everything that's included in the packages, I hope my daughter & son in law spoke to someone at the desk like I told them to after the party about things being so dysfunctional. YES I gave 1 star, BUT that's ONLY for the party planning & the female hostess with attitude. Other then that, I've been there before with my grandkids to play & they always have a good time, So 5...
