I recently had a truly awful experience with Coleman’s Furniture, and I feel compelled to share my story to warn others. This store is an absolute nightmare. The products are low quality, often defective and poorly assembled. Their Executive chairs are simply not worth the money. I strongly advise against purchasing anything from this company.
Firstly, it's important to note that Coleman’s Furniture has a terrible track record. A quick search online will reveal numerous negative reviews and complaints, (anything over a 2 star must be fake of self-generated)… Read ONLY the 1- and 2-star reviews to see who this company really is. What's even more disturbing is that they are not accredited by the Better Business Bureau, (See BBB Alert), which should immediately raise red flags for potential customers. I wish I had done the due diligence before I made my purchase.
So here we go… After searching for a REAL leather executive office chair, I ended up finding a HEKMAN Black Tufted Leather Chair at Coleman’s which was listed at $3,599…but ON SALE for $2,399 with “free set up and delivery”. This was substantially more than what I wanted to spend but it was real leather and I wanted high end quality. When my executive chair was delivered, it looked fine. The delivery company placed it down behind my desk and asked me to sign their paperwork, which I assumed was to verify delivery. I will admit, it was mistake for not spending the 30 minutes it would have taken to read the entire “Disclaimer”, but it was late in the day, and I had already had a frustrating experience dealing with those guys trying to get the delivery scheduled.
When I sat down in the chair and leaned to the side, the chair sagged to the right and stayed that way. I thought it must have been assembled incorrectly as it was a staggering two inches out of level from left to right. It was impossible to sit on it without feeling completely off-balance and uncomfortable.
Now, any reputable company would take responsibility for such an obvious defect, but not Coleman’s Furniture. Instead of offering an apology or even a hint of remorse, they shamelessly deflected the blame back onto me, the customer, saying it was a “Post-Delivery” issue since I signed the delivery companies’ paperwork.
To add insult to injury, their customer service was beyond abysmal. It was clear that Coleman’s Furniture had no interest in rectifying the situation or ensuring customer satisfaction. This level of disregard for customers is inexcusable.
As for their “Reviews”, it's worth noting that most seem fake or self-generated. As mentioned earlier, if you want to understand the quality of products these guys sell and how they treat paying customers, pay attention to the 1- and 2-star posts.
In conclusion, I strongly advise against purchasing from Coleman’s Furniture. The defective and poorly assembled Executive Chairs they sell are not only a waste of money but also a source of frustration and discomfort. The lack of accreditation by the Better Business Bureau, their refusal to accept responsibility, and the dismissive customer service all point to a company that should be avoided at all costs. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere for a reliable and reputable furniture store.
Better yet, report them to your states Attorney General’s office for Consumer Protection. That’s what I’m...
Read moreIn August 2024, I purchased an Ashley sectional from Coleman Furniture. Within just a month of delivery, the chaise cushion began sagging significantly on one side, creating a visible, uneven divot. It became uncomfortable and unsightly. I reached out to Coleman Furniture around a month after delivery to report the issue — well within the one-year manufacturer warranty — and received no response at all.
When I later followed up, Coleman claimed the manufacturer had denied my claim because the issue was “normal wear and tear,” not a defect. No one from Coleman or the manufacturer ever inspected the sofa in person. They based their entire denial on a few photos submitted long after my original outreach — an outreach they had ignored.
Frustrated, I contacted Ashley Furniture directly, and their response couldn’t have been clearer. Ashley acknowledged the issue was indeed a defect and sent me a replacement cushion cover free of charge under the warranty. This directly contradicts Coleman’s claim that the issue was not covered, and shows that my original complaint was valid.
I then asked Coleman to provide the foam insert necessary to complete the repair. They agreed to send it, but only if I paid $97.85 in shipping, effectively punishing me for their earlier failure to handle the claim properly.
The situation only deteriorated further when I spoke with Coleman’s case manager by phone. I was told, without irony, that “cushions might only last a year” and that “proper care” includes not sitting on the couch for too long or jumping on it. In other words, I was blamed for using my couch like a couch. When I asked how I could prove that I followed their vague and unspoken care instructions, they had no answer. When I asked if customers should expect to repurchase a new cushion every year, they replied, “Possibly.”
When I explained — again — that I had contacted them within the first month of delivery, I was accused of lying. I then offered to provide screenshots of my phone records and emails showing those early attempts to contact them, and was told not to bother — that my evidence “wouldn’t help” and that no better resolution would be offered, regardless of what I proved. They made it clear they were not interested in the truth — only in shutting the case down.
I also requested to escalate to a supervisor and was told that the case manager was the final authority. I asked to speak with someone from the manufacturer who had supposedly reviewed my claim — and was told I wasn’t allowed to. So not only was I blocked from verifying the warranty denial, I was also blocked from escalating it.
Finally, when I asked if Coleman stood behind the products they sell, I was told, “We’re just the middleman.” This company takes your money, ships the furniture, and refuses to support it in any way once it’s in your home — even when a clear defect is reported early, acknowledged by the manufacturer, and proven with documented communication.
Coleman’s conduct has been absurd and shameful. They ignored my timely complaint, misrepresented the manufacturer’s position, refused to review clear evidence, gaslit me on the phone, blamed me for sitting on the couch, and then had the nerve to demand I pay for shipping to fix a defect that was...

I can’t stress this enough! Our experience has been awful! Can’t believe they have positive reviews! If you read the negative reviews they all express the same concern, CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE!!! I’m going to try and make this as short as I can because we went round and round for about 4 months!
We bought OUTDOOR furniture, a sofa and loveseat which I absolutely love! Bought it and was delivered the end of Feb/first part of March. All was good until about the end of May. I noticed that all the cushions were getting something black on them. At first I thought it was dirt but, every time I would go out to our porch there was more and more. Turns out it was mildew!
I called right away and that’s when it all started! Unfortunately, they are so un-educated about the products they sell, everyone gives you a different answer. So, I had to start at the bottom, go thru all the protocol of filling out forms sending photos and videos etc…then I was connected to Chen the customer service manager. That wasn’t much better.
I repeatedly had to reach out to her for “updates” and when Chen saw the photos of the cushions and pillows she was a bit shocked! Then I started getting all the excuses!!! Oh your placement of the furniture is in a bad spot, it doesn’t get enough sun, it’s getting too much sun, it’s getting wet etc…the furniture is in a screened in porch. It is sold as OUTDOOR FURNITURE. The placement is perfect, it gets just the right amount of sun and it doesn’t get wet!! “Upholstered in outdoor-friendly material,” is right from their website!!
The manufacturer sent me replacement covers and the same thing happened again! So then I was put in touch with the “supervisor” Rachel I believe is her name. Absolute nightmare!! I was told all the same excuses that I heard before. And pretty much there’s nothing they will do for me. Also, according to Rachel, she is supposedly the top of your resources as a customer. After her the only other person above her is the President of the company and he doesn’t talk to customers??! How convenient! She is extremely rude and very much has attitude and absolutely no empathy! They do not stand behind the product they sell you. Normally something like this is between the seller and manufacturer but not with Coleman.
So, we spent almost $3000 on NEW OUTDOOR furniture and now I have furniture that looks like crap. Rachel then had the balls to tell me that they would sell me new cushions and covers!!
Because the cushions have to be cleaned I got a hold of a company that works with outdoor furniture with 25 years experience and the owner told me that the furniture should have NEVER been advertised as outdoor, especially in a climate where we live. So another $600 to get them cleaned and a protectant put on them. Seriously, all potential buyers out there BE AWARE AND DO YOUR RESEARCH!!!
Coleman I do look forward to your response as I’m sure it’s going to be...
