Host: Cheery.

Atmosphere/Ambiance: Overall lighting was perfect. Decor was pleasant. Some cute artwork to balance the restaurant; lets you know that even though it is a steakhouse, it is approachable. Music was a hair louder than I would have liked, but the restaurant was still mostly empty when my party arrived. When the restaurant filled, it was fine. This can be fine tuned, volume of music to match volume of crowd, but may not be worth the hassle. The walls have recessed LEDs that peek out at you if you are at the wrong angle, but not offensively. We sat in a corner, floor could have been mopped a bit better, my son mentioned that it was greasy.

Restroom: Clean. Music was not louder than appropriate.

Service: The waitress and her accompanying staff were 5 star, well trained. Did not talk more than necessary, gave recommendations, got our orders right, tolerated us, and were timely. Treated my 9 year old like a prince. Bussed and crumbed tables appropriately between courses. Refilled our glasses often enough to replenish our sparkling water twice, where we might not have ourselves, upselling 2 bottles. Good for them. They were timely, efficient, and everything one hopes for in restaurant staffing. The reason that the staffing does not get a five star, and there is no way to divide this, is that I was lied to. (Details about this in the food section.) The waitress is not to be blamed, she sells what she is instructed to. Someone in ownership or management ought to be ashamed. If I could, I would give them one star.

Food:

Free bread: Basket with variety of warm rolls. Garlic butter.

Appetizers: CHOP CHOP - Salad was adequate. ORANGE CHICKEN - Bok choy was done well. Chicken had very slight crispy coating. Was ok. BARBACOA BEEEF TACOS - Everyone in my party enjoyed these, which is indeed all that matters, thus these are a five star. (To the foodie: a bit saucier than one would have liked, with too much meat on the taco, not balanced, needed about half the amount of meat on each. This is one of the only menu items to be eaten without cutlery, as tacos are, and required lots of napkin use.) 3 VEGAN APPETIZERS - Ok.

The appetizers get four stars. My party enjoyed them, but the 3 vegan appetizers were 'elevated Shabbos fare'.

Mains: I was told that steaks are 28 day dry aged and prime. My mother ordered her BONE-IN RIB STEAK well done, and ate it with ketchup and BBQ sauce. I warned her that the chef might throw her out. I tasted her steak, but it would be unfair to opine here. Fries are not made in house; this is sorry in a steakhouse.

FRENCH BISTRO - I should have known better but I second guessed myself. I asked the waiter which cut this was, I was told this was surprise steak. This was not surprise steak. Surprise steak has no sinew or silver skin in it. Prime surprise steak cuts like butter, this did not. This came sliced to mask the lie I was told, also a sin, a real surprise steak should/would/may not necessarily come sliced. The were a few other indicators, but the details are not that important. Had I been told the truth, I would have ordered the bone-in. As a result, I did not enjoy my steak main, in a steakhouse. Looking back, this was cheapest steak offered, and they were just making an accessible/affordable option. I was not looking at the prices or I would have gotten a proper steak.

DESSERTS - Unoriginal. Adequate.

Pricing: Appropriate for a restaurant of this caliber in 2024.

My party enjoyed, and I would recommend this establishment, it is arguably the best kosher steakhouse in the area, but it left me,...

I had the privilege of experiencing the magic of DOMA Steakhouse recently, and I am still in awe of the exceptional dining journey I embarked on. From start to finish, every aspect of my visit was nothing short of spectacular.

Upon entering DOMA, I was immediately greeted by an ambiance that exuded elegance and comfort. The dim lighting and cozy seating created an inviting atmosphere that set the stage for what turned out to be a culinary adventure beyond my expectations.

The service was impeccable—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about ensuring that every guest had an extraordinary experience. The staff's recommendations were spot-on, guiding me through the menu and helping me choose a steak that would perfectly suit my palate.

Speaking of the steak, I must say that it was a revelation. Cooked to absolute perfection, my steak was a succulent masterpiece that showcased the artistry of the chef. The balance of flavors, the tenderness of the meat, and the careful attention to detail in its preparation were a testament to the dedication and skill that goes into each dish.

Accompanying the steak were sides that were just as impressive. The mashed potatoes were pure indulgence, and the grilled broccolini added a refreshing touch to the meal. It was evident that every component on the plate was meticulously chosen to complement and enhance the star of the show—the steak.

The presentation of each dish was nothing short of stunning. The careful arrangement of ingredients highlighted the creativity and thoughtfulness that goes into crafting a meal at DOMA. It was evident that this steakhouse takes immense pride in delivering not only an exceptional culinary experience but also a visual feast.

As I savored the final bites of my meal, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the privilege of dining at DOMA. This establishment truly embodies the essence of a remarkable steakhouse, where every element, from ambiance to service to cuisine, harmoniously intertwines to create an unforgettable experience.

DOMA Steakhouse is a treasure trove for those who appreciate the art of fine dining. The combination of outstanding service, exquisite cuisine, and an inviting atmosphere make it a destination that stands out among the culinary landscape. If you're seeking a gastronomic journey that leaves you with memories to savor, look no further than DOMA—a true testament to the passion and dedication that goes into crafting a...

Let me start this off by saying this wasn’t our first time here. We came to celebrate a friend’s birthday. We had reservations, we were seated at our table, we waited for 10 minutes and no body came to the table to even bring us the menus. While we were waiting a bus boy was clearing another table, a fork flew off one of his plates, and landed on my smearing bbq sauce all over me. Honestly should’ve gotten up and left right there and then. After waiting for 10 minutes, which is insane for such an upscale restaurant, and such upscale prices, I went to get the manager, I bumped into the hostess and she said she will send the manager over. He came he apologized, said the server would be right over. The server that he sent was very nice, he gave us menus, and said he would be right back. He came back took mine, and my friend’s drink orders, and apps. My wife didn’t get a chance to look at the drinks menu, said to give her a couple minutes. A few minutes later, he came back to take the mains order, they didn’t have the skirt steak, which is mostly why we came. But ok fine, we ordered a burger to share, and my friend ordered the bone in ribeye. At this time my wife ordered her drink. The apps and the original drinks were brought out, the sushi was mediocre, not their usual. And we got the beef tacos, which we usually love, this time they were just to salty, and no real flavor, we finish with the apps, they clear, and right away bring the mains, half way through our waiter makes an appearance, my wife asks him where’s her drink, and he’s like we don’t make that drink any more, didn’t mention this when she ordered. She asks for the tali bae which the drinks we had, and my friend orders another one for him self. Wait another 20 minutes with no drinks in sight. At this point we are done, we ask for the check, the check comes and 2 minutes later drinks come. At this point I’ve had enough, looked at the check it was close to $400 for less than mediocre food, and I’ve had better service at fast food places I went to the manager, who honestly expected me to come up, but honestly he should’ve come, instead of me looking for him. We did settle on a better price on the bill. But after this horrible experience, I won’t be coming. It was soooo disappointing, as our friend doesn’t eat kosher, and we always push kosher restaurants, this honestly was...

My wife and I went for our anniversary, and wow were we impressed! Dinner was AMAZING! First of all, it’s just a super cool place. Much bigger than I thought, with a great ambiance! There were a lot of people, so it was definitely kinda loud, but not disturbingly so. Now on to the food… We started off with the Doma Roll and the tuna black truffle sushi. Both were a bit intense for me, but still really good. We got 3 appetizers: 1) the warm hummus and spiced beef- I’m actually surprised that I liked it, it was more for my wife, but I did really enjoy it! It had crunchy crackers and israeli-spiced meat in hummus. Really enjoyed it! 2) the barbacoa beef tacos- also extremely tasty! It’s bbq brisket in a taco, and I really liked it! 3) the pulled brisket flatbread- surprisingly, while this was the appetizer I was most excited for, it ended up being the one I was least impressed with, though it was still quite good! It’s basically a really solid smoked brisket meat pizza. It tasted great, it just wasn’t something that I felt was particularly unique. The highlights though, were my main and the dessert. I got the bone in rib steak, and dang was that good! As you can see, it’s quite rare, which is exactly how I like it. As far as I’m concerned, this was a perfect steak. Fat, crispy on the outside, soft and juicy on the inside, just all around YUM! Sometimes you buy a steak and regret spending the money on it. This was not one of those times. For the dessert, we got a cinnamon bun with ice cream, and my gosh. My. Gosh. INSANELY good! They also wrote “Happy Anniversary” in marshmallow, unsolicited, which was a nice touch (they asked what the occasion was when we made the reservation, which is how they knew). All in all, an incredible experience, and worth every penny. I will add, we didn’t finish a single one of the dishes, which we expected. We now have a fridge full of delicious food to be enjoyed for the next couple of nights. Thanks so much again to all those who gave recommendations! Looking forward to going back!

So I came to eat, was at lunchtime so they had a prefixed venue and not everything was available. The service was amazing. The place looked really nice. But after hearing people always say how great it is, I really thought it was going to be better. I ordered the soup that was chicken with lentils, not really crazy about the flavor, there was a herb or spice that trew it of can't put my finger on what it was. The delmonaco steak is nothing special, I have had better ones, and truthfully, to put fries and not have mashpotatoes that go better with a stake and make it more high-end. I tried my friends' lambchops, I found them to be salty and nothing special. The deserts it's nice that they had Pistachio and also got the donut , but if I had to chose this from the venue and didn't come with the prefixed lunch, I wouldn't have ordered desert. I also ordered an appetizer from the regular menu, I ordered the barbacoa tacos for 26$ the are 3 really tiny tacos, tranches in a over salted BBQ sauce, which of course after on bite I let them know and they took off our bill. To the owner if you read this, go to fuego in florida and try what barbacoa tacos are, barbacoa is not cheap pulled beef, real barbacoa is made incide a hole in the ground (if you ever go to Mexico, go to Shuky Kosher, and get the real barbacoa, so you see you are doing things wrong), also barbacoa isnt a facy way to call bbq, and barbacoa is lamb. for what your serving just put pulled beef tacos like everyone else and lower the price cause the meat itself was not good at all Truthfully, I was disappointed in the food altogether. But the people that work for you are super nice and you have a nice looking place to eat. Bill was about $140 before tax and tip for 2 people. For lunch. Would I come again to eat. Unfortunately no. (FYI the donuts come with 2, I asked to number served only one)

Have had the blessing of experiencing a meal at Doma about a dozen times since its opening. Not often you are going to find one of the pre-eminent Kosher restaurants in the world, located at a railroad station, but that is exactly what has happened here. Have tried a variety of appetizers, Sushi, sliders, and all have been quite incredible. Where Doma separates itself from every other Kosher restaurant, is the quality and variety of their steak. Again, have tried a variety, all are incredible and all push the envelope of what Kosher steak can be. The pics connected to this review are a dinner me and 3 friends shared, a literal smorgasboard of kosher meats...: All done to perfection and as you can see, no doggy bags, that offering is unique. Finally, donuts for a dessert is part of their culture, had a little room for one...:) On top of all the incredible food, the service has always been friendly, knowledgeable and incredibly accomodating, even things off the menu if we ask. Plus, a great vibe any night and a bar/drinks top notch, with friendly and professional bartenders. Please be aware that all of this is quite expensive, but try to experience the height of Kosher fine-dining, right in the Cedarhurst train station!
