King Kullen Supermarket — Local services in Town of Hempstead

King Kullen, in general, is usually a bit more expensive than most of the other stores. I mostly go here for sales and for the bakery. I have to say that the bakery makes the best Napoleon's that I have had in many years, as long as they are fresh. EDIT - This store is usually clean and the employees are polite and helpful. This Supermarket is okay, but it is not outstanding. Lately the prices seem to have been going up not by a lot, but enough to be noticed by me. Most of the staff is friendly enough, but lately the manager seems to be a bit rude. When I have asked to see the store manager or to speak with him, he always seems to be "having a bad day". Recently, for instance, I found some canned fruit for sale on the shelf. The only problem was that it was outdated by at least two months. It was only that one package that I found, but since the manager was filling in an end cap, I brought the package in question to him and suggested that he might want to have someone check the rest of the stock. He may have said thank you, but I don't think so. More importantly, he took the out-of-date package and simply threw it on the U-boat that he was taking product from to fill in the end cap. I've had no less than 3 experiences with him that he seemed to be annoyed that I "dared" to ask him a question or make a comment. I truly like this supermarket, I'm there twice a day sometimes, It's extremely clean, most of the time fully stocked, Love the ladies at the courtesy desk, love the friendly butcher with dreadlocks. last 4 weeks I go there in the morning about 8 AM to pick up stuff for contractors working on my home .Im extremely disappointed with the croissants and doughnuts, they are very old and stale. I bought 6 croissants yesterday, Monday, they had to be from Friday, they were not eatable. I should have returned them, instead I threw them away. I dont think you should sell croissants even if they are 1 day old, yet alone 2 to 3 days. I will be picking up my croissants at the bakery, they make them fresh daily. I am regular customer of that store for few years and today i had The worst experience in my life at this store Employee name is Patty , she looks very old and has grey hair , wearing glasses , she insulted me and disrespected me plus did not want to provide service , I came to the store at 9 45 pm and I guess she was lazy to work in her last minutes of shift , store closes at 10 pm Its very rude and disgusting how she acted and spoke
