Traci D. Hair Studio — Local services in Town of Hempstead

Wanted to wait a bit before making a review. Was disappointed with everything overall. I went in early, as the morning of I was asked to come earlier than the scheduled appointment time. They reached out because it was assumed that I needed wash, etc to be done. However, I came already washed and blow Dried (as it stated online when making the appointment). I was there a very very long time. I was blown out, I think the stylist used conditioner and water mixture to do so. I was then told my hair was severely broken off so I needed a wig. I do not like lace front wigs, but I was there for so long and just wanted to get out since I had a long drive ahead. The stylist explained how to manage, however the next day the lace looked so light outside and inside you can tell. The hair is also way too brown. I did communicate via text with the hair stylist she gave me tips like to apply make up which i did . I complained about the color as well as I communicated at the salon that I wanted black. I was told that it would need to be a whole new wig made which I wasn’t going to drop more money on one after spending over $600. I thought maybe it could be dyed. I had to make the wig look natural where the lace was by shading in the lace a bit and taking out some hair to cover The lace etc. I also had an allergic reaction to the solution that was used to blow out my hair. So I have two spots that are scabbed/burned. The wig band keeps coming undone as well and it’s been less than a month. This wasn’t a cheap purchase at all. Disappointed because I wanted to like this place as the reviews seemed promising. Won’t be going back...

I absolutely love this studio.. this past Saturday was my 3rd time being serviced there and it is such a great experience.The salon is spotless, beautiful and relaxing. I got a silk press and cut by Lindsay. She takes her time and is super detailed with making sure that your hair comes out exactly how you want. I also love that while being styled she discusses your hairs health and helps you come up with ways to keep your hair healthy through styling methods. I will definitely continue to use this salon thank you Lindsay for styling me.

UPDATE: I couldn’t figure out how to leave another review but I was just serviced last week by the salons newest stylist Tericka and I absolutely love my hair. I have now been serviced by every single stylist at this salon. It is so rare to go to a salon and feel comfortable sitting in anyone’s chair. But I have no issues at this salon I’ll take any available appointment with anyone because I KNOW the quality will be amazing across the board. I just had to come back and update because this salon is OWNED AND RUN by black woman and their professionalism and work...

Traci was recommended to me by a friend. My experiences with Traci have always been amazing .As a stylist and hair care specialist is very professional, knowledgeable, and understanding this is shown in way she treats her clients. She is punctual with appointments and easy to contact before and after appointments for any questions or advice on hair care and maintenance. Her studio is well kept and organized it is also a private setting where you are given privacy and one on one attention. I have had weaves installed and a wig made and installed by Traci she is absolutely amazing ! My braid foundation has always been a concern for me , due to my hair texture my braids normally come out immediately her braiding skills phenomenal my braids always intact, neat, and flat which creates a natural look for my weaves and wig. I am always satisfied with quality of hair she uses. Overall what I most appreciated is Traci is her ability to listen to her clients, as she transforms my ideas to flawless weaves and wigs.
