I’ve been there a few times. After having lived in a few states, and seen many many liquor stores my observation is Bottles & Cases has a lack of selections. Twice I and there to look for bottles that are VERY common in restaurants and liquor stores. But they didn’t have them. This latest time, I inquired. Why would they not have such great value. Very common selection (one CA Cabernet, another aged Rum) They explained that there isn’t enough floor space to carry too many choices. Not enough floor space? The place is huge. The two other liquor stores in the area, not as big, carry both. When I pressed this person about choices, I got an explanation about inventory and stocking. I didn’t bother giving him my explanation of the customer - service relationship: Customer is always right! A better answer was they will offer to special order. Or look into carrying these items, because WHO KNOWS, maybe I know something about it after decades of enjoying them. This place was floor to ceiling stocked with things I couldn’t find and also stocked with bad attitude toward the customer. Last insult to injury was their up-sell at the register to spend a little more for a free bottle. This place didn’t feel like a place for aficionados. Or an all-in superstore that has it all. I did walk out with a few bottles. But not what I hoped for and with a negative experience. So. Why even give the 3 stars? Great parking. Clean, well lit store. Just be open to what THEY want to sell, or pressure you...
Read moreThis place is great. Lower prices for the same high quality wines and liquors you'd pay more for elsewhere. It's big and clean and the layout is intuitive with wines displayed by varietal and region. Friendly and helpful staff. They also have a tasting area in the back where select wines and liquors are available for on-demand tastings. They sometimes have special tastings at the entrance to drum up sales for certain products like whiskey with bottle engraving during the holidays or near Father's Day, for example. You can also order ahead and get curbside pickup here, which has been in effect since the pandemic started. I hope they continue this because it's super convenient and saves time when you're on the run. The only downside to this place is that they don't always have everything "standard" in stock. It just depends on the day. For example, I was looking for Bailey's Irish Cream recently and they only have the "light" artificial sugar version. It's not a problem most of the time but when it is, it means another trip elsewhere. This place is centrally located in the Huntington...
Read moreWhat a great selection of wines bourbon's, and booze. But most of all was the help we got from Chris, he spent time showing us many wines with their different grapes and regions of the world, including rums and tequilas too. He shared his opinion on flavors, body, qualities, etc. We learned how the store is actually set up so wines are displayed in these groupings! His patience and knowledge was incredible! It allowed us to purchase so much more with his guidance. Not to mention this place has so many items set up for tasting, gives you the chance to try without waiting, a huge advantage imo. Don't forget to see Chris... Lucky for us a lovely lady(Marie) was sampling some wines from Spain and Portugal, gave us a chance to try and buy something we would have passed up for sure. Even the checkout person (Eileen) was a pleasure. obtw, their special "buy one get one for a $1." Is too good to be...
