I was a member for over 15 years prior to Covid. I rejoined a year and a half ago, paid every month but could never find the time to go to the gym. This week was my first visit since I rejoined. I had rejoined in September of 2021 and paid all this time and finally made it this week! I remember well enjoying all the gym offered me now close to 17-18 years ago. And while the equipment has been updated a couple of times since I first went, I have always enjoyed my visits to the gym! I’ve had things happening that kept me away, but now I’m trying to build and improved myself! I very much enjoy Planet Fitness! I hope to return again and continue to do so for many more years! I love my Black Card as I like to tan and use the massage beds and chairs too! I think many years ago in the beginning, the staff were more like family and friends but, they were very nice and helpful on my first visit back. The water still stinks when you wash you hands so I’m probably going to avoid that. My wife was a member for over 15 years as well and is hoping to return as a guest with my Black Card. She loved it more in the early years but somewhere along the way the gym developed a foul odor like sewer we both smelled. On this visit I didn’t smell it until washing my hands. Other than that I enjoy everything the gym offers. It will take me sometime to get use to all the programs/electronic settings on several pieces of equipment as well as how to use the all the new exercise equipment. But overall, I very much like having the gym to go to. It’s (to me) like a playground only it helps with building your body as well as your outlook on life. I wish the ellipticals didn’t loss the screen achievements so fast that I don’t get to snap a picture of my achievements or write them down. But, I guess I will get used to that as well.    Read moreI’ve been using this gym about 6 days a week for a year now. I prefer this location to others in the area because there’s a decent amount of floor space and you don’t feel like your suffocated by other people (Newburgh is so tightly packed with no floor space, in comparison). I also like the layout and 360 area of this location in particular. Only thing that has put me off lately is the change in clientele when the new year hit. Barely anyone is wiping down machines or reracking their weights. I wish the staff would enforce these basic principles a bit because it affects other members. Recently had a very irritating experience with two men who were talking at the top of their lungs for literally an hour. Their voices filled the entire gym, shouting, and I was shocked none of the employees had the consideration to say something. Also annoying, they straight up started using a machine I walked away from for 10 seconds even though my water, sweatshirt, and phone were right there. This is all to say, many of the members lack basic gym etiquette so badly that it can ruin your workout.
I’ve never found that the place was smelly at all and as for complaints about the water — it’s not the gyms fault that Poughkeepsie water overall is just gross...

When my monthly membership fee/annual fee did not go through for insufficient funds I was rebilled repeatedly, I was not aware I would be rebilled this many times and I'm dealing with insufficient fund fees with the bank now after PF did 7+ attempted transactions in a month
In person at my club I asked for my late fees on your side to be removed and my annual fee be reduced or removed as a courtesy and I would then pay my outstanding balance and become current
I was told in no uncertain terms this was impossible and that the mangers hands where tied and it was impossible for them to wave the fees or extend me any courtesy
