I have been to many retro game stores here across Long Island and this location Retro Island Gaming has by far amazed me starting with how clean and very organized that store looks as soon as you walk in. The staff is very friendly and always helpful. Another great thing is that they have a nice little clearance section that has a decent amount of games to choose from. To add more excitement is that they have a small section of imported drinks and snacks for purchase to go along with your shopping experience. The most amazing part is that their website is the most convenient experience to have for their customers. Their website has all up to date games that the store has in stock with pricing which makes looking for certain games you may be looking for much easier to locate if they have without having to call. Maintaining that website with the amount of detail and daily updates must be very difficult to keep up with but it shows how well the owners care about their customers experience ability to locate games they want. Having a computer in store for the customers to use is so cool at the same time. I stopped into Retro Island Gaming back in August 2024 with some friends trying to find Christmas gifts for my husband and other family members. The three owners Josh, Elliot, and Kimmy were incredibly helpful with offering suggestions and helped me come up with perfect gifts that my family enjoyed so much! They had complete in box Gold and Silver Japanese Pokemon games (my husband's all time favorite!) in the perfect plastic cases for display. My husband immediately put those on his shelf and told all his friends about his surprise. The best gift I picked up however were the games, the HD/AV adapter, and a bunch of other PS2 accessories I was missing in order to help my father-in-law and his family relive their glory days of Guitar Hero!
