I went to cork and bull for the first time the other day and I don’t know how to feel. I’m still trying to piece it together.
I walk into this beautiful, completely renovated bar and am impressed, only to have an insult immediately hurled my way. Apparently there’s this board where your buddies can buy you a drink and leave you an insult for the next time you come in. Idk mine was something about milk (I don’t even drink cows milk). Anyways bartender says ‘rack gin coming up’ and I’m thinking he’s grabbing a deck of cards or something, but he grabs a bottle of warm gin, pours it in my mouth and marks my forehead with salt like I’m Simba. Pretty sure some people near the 5 dart boards and pool table were doing some weird chant while it was happening too. Could’ve been the Skiball guy, idk.
Anyways, whatever was in that bottle changed my life. I now quit my job because me and my new girlfriend who lives in Germany, who I met on the dart board that lets you play with anyone on the world on camera, have different time zones and my work schedule gets in the way. I’ve lost 15 pounds because I only eat now when the owner’s nice enough to put out the free happy hour food he does occasionally through the week. Worst of all probably, my social life is non-existent. This bar is hands down better than anything in the area, so I never venture out and make new friends besides all the people inside in the bar who are actually pretty friendly (I think they were Simba’d too) I now just buy myself a drink on the insult board hoping to feel something the next time I come...
Read moreConsider me impressed. Was searching for an affordable local spot that would accommodate 15-20 people for my fiancés 31st bday. he just wanted to shoot some darts and play some pool and potentially have the Knick’s playing in the background. spoke with the owner Chris beforehand and he was so chill and accommodating from the start. Even allowed us to bring in food for our friends. There was a darts tournament going on but he gave us consistent access to least one board. It wasn’t too hard to get access to the pool table and we had our own little area by their gaming system. We just did a cash bar, the drinks were pretty affordable and still very yummy. Was beyond impressed with both Chris and his bar manager Steven, they were both considerate and attentive to our party. We’re already in the process of discussing our next trip there. Would absolutely do it again and look forward to making this a regular hang for my...
Read moreThe transformation from the old Shortstop pub is amazing, Astetically It's a top notch pub, it's 100% geared to a younger crowd who love playing darts but the old day crowd is no longer there, Football, Baseball, Hockey and Basketball games have taken a back seat to darts, No football Sunday specials, and unfortunately the bar still doesn't serve any food, My review is an open review and I'm hoping the day crowd comes back and Football, Baseball, hockey and Basketball get a little more love from the new owner, if so this bar could easily become a 5 star...
