It is difficult to find a black hair salon in Suffolk county much less a good one as most are in the city. I typically do not leave negative reviews, however i wanted to share my experience as I was truly not pleased. I purchased a wig via Mayenn hair company which includes free wig customization. The customization includes cutting the lace, bleaching the knots. and tinting the lace. I selected the stylist (latisha) above based off the reviews and location. Her work looked pretty good off Mayvenns website. I reached out to her and I requested for the wig to be colored / highlight blonde and sent a picture of what I wanted it to look like . We agreed for 90 and the appointment was set for Wednesday at 10. She told me at the salon the wig would be done tomorrow, ad i said thats great becuase i have an event this weekend. As such I follow up the next day she then informed me it wasnt done yet it would be done Friday (today). I asked her specifically if the wig took the color and she said. yes” . Now after working a double I picked up the wig and come home and thoroughly inspected the wig (I know I should of done so before I left but I was tired SMDH). I noticed the color looked NOTHING like the picture. Instead it’s looked brassy ( like pennies). Mind you I had explained the wig was for an event this weekend prior to dropping off the wig. I figured maybe i can correct it, how ever I also noticed the lace wasn’t tinted and it appeared the knots didn’t seem to be bleached. (Although she said she did, it just didn’t appear so.idk) Disappointed with the outcome I contacted Mayvenn with photos, and they offered to exchange the wig and gave me a store credit (this was nice), and i agreed. I then contacted the stylist to inform her of my concerns. She asked if I could come back but i couldn’t because like I mentioned before I had plans for the weekend. Upset with the over all outcome I requested a refund, or at least a partial refund/the deposit back. She in return stated that she wasn’t given ample time and couldn’t refund me because she used her supplies... She then proposed a discounted service in the future. Typically I would accept this, however this is my first encounter with your business , realistically if the service wasn’t correct the first time why would I return... ? I respectfully declined and was too tired to argue. Not to mention all the issues listed above.. my biggest one was had she simply told me the look I requested would of taken a week to achieve prior* to the drop off I would of scheduled accordingly or with someone else . Never the less she is a nice person and her other work appeared great. (idk what happened with mine but i dont know peoples situations) it was just unfortunate my experience was NOT the greatest. I paid for a service I ultimately did not receive only for the wig to be sent back anyway (feels like a waste of money). All it would of taken was better communication and proper rectification.This of course is just my expereince and i hope others do not...

Latisha went above and beyond my expectations. I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted, not only did she meet me at the hair store to help me find a style that works for me but she convinced me to add a great color that I and my husband love. She also recommended a product to use to help with my struggle keeping my hair moisturized. Latisha is very professional and personable. I am rather shy and she made me feel very comfortable.
