I was there a few days ago and having been to every cigar shop/lounge on Long Island from North/South/East End and West, the prices here are egregious. Even regular Fuente lines are drastically overpriced and cigars which have a solid quality/value ratio like Oliva Melanio’s are marked up much more than they should be. I saw the Viva La Vida Octo Culebra which has an MSRP of $40 with two other shops on L.I. Selling for $45 and they are selling for $60. I’ve been a cigar smoker for 25+ years, have an intimate knowledge of the cigar industry and well versed in NY tobacco taxes and this is over the top even for Long Island.
Places like Matador that have no shame in turning a profit at least have a large selection and Boris isn’t afraid to spend money. The lounge itself is nice enough but customer service albeit a slow day wasn’t over the top either. When you can buy an Opus elsewhere which I get the pricing with supply and demand at the same as some of the basic not hard to find cigars being priced here it’s hard to justify that.
I’ve been fortunate enough to buy and smoke plenty of pricey cigars, Davidoff Oro Blanco Special Reserve 111, Behikes, Padron/Fuente Legends, Opus in many blends from regular to purples and yes the prices are obscene but those are THE prices.
To take your readily available cigars and jack up the price more than NY standards, in good conscience I have to inform the average customer you shouldn’t break your bank here for what you can get at other B&M’s for better prices. Having said all this I did purchase two cigars as I try and support local business but...
Read moreAs a daily cigar smoker, local to the south shore of Suffolk County- I can state with some certitude that Long Island Cigar is the best bang for your buck cigar bar in the area. Excellent custom service aside:
Nowhere else will you get the combination of good pricing, great selection and quality environment- which ensures a cigar can be enjoyed at its maximum protentional.
I know first hand that some other retailers in the area may have "cheaper" prices, but in every instance I have had a negative experience (from dried out sticks to powdery mildew being mistaken for cigar plume by the retailer).
That isn't to say there aren't other decent options in the area BUT ---They're gunna have a much smaller selection ---Its gunna cost you more than a little bit ---The environment is out of whack and the cigars aren't aging properly.
These are the reasons I believe it was voted "Best Cigar Shop on Long Island." It also helps when the two owners have a vested interest in providing an asset to the community- an enterprise becoming less and...
Read moreStopped here for the first time in late July. Very nice establishment. Got to meet one of the owner’s named Ed. Very hospitable. Many good things here. The best is the ventilation system! So nice to visit a cigar bar and not be overwhelmed by smoke! A friend and I enjoyed a cigar in one of the many comfortable lounge chairs. I enjoyed a very good Maduro house cigar. There are TVs as well to enjoy the ball game. Everyone there was friendly and nice. Good selection of cigars that will only get better as they only opened in May. My only complaint is that I wish it was closer to my house, which is about 30 minutes away. I will definitely being going back and enjoying this establishment. Well worth the trip! One of Suffolk County’s best cigar...
