Go Greek — Restaurant in Town of Islip

Very disappointed! I went there this evening after seeing a Facebook advertisement. After getting home and sitting down with my family for dinner we realized the food was incorrectly made. I called and explained the situation and told the worker the the fries were missing on the sandwich which was really the only part of it my fiancé was looking forward to. She informed me her manager said to bring it back and she would put a handful of fries on it. With frustration after not even getting an apology and realizing I would now need to drive all the way back I am now told to bring back my old sandwich. I would now have two cold and soggy sandwiches from the sauce and tomatoes on my sandwiches by the time I returned home at 730 to eat dinner with my family after being at work since 530 am. I asked what she could do for me hoping maybe she would offer a side of fries or maybe a desert for the inconvenience but instead told me she would give me a 75 cent refund! From the phone call to the in person interaction with this manager she was rude, argumentative, unprofessional and overall nasty! If the owner reads this please contact me prior to me contacting my bank for a full refund for not only getting the wrong order but coming back to the food that was actually correct afterwards and it being cold and soggy! First time here. Saw it on the way in to Meat Farms. Went home, looked at the reviews, then decided on Online ordering: excellent. Everything ready when I showed up: Yes. Paid online during the ordering so I was able to just pick up and go. No receipt signing. Got home to enjoy.... My wife got the rice bowl with beef lamb combo. She wished there was some lettuce in there. Maybe I ordered wrong. But she wished she'd have ordered the gyro. My son got the burger with feta, said he'd prefer the gyro next time. I got the gyro. Not the best gyro I ever had, but it was good. I'll get it again. Sorry, Mediterranean Snack bar in Huntington set the bar way up high.

Now the low points. We ordered the "Roasted" Cauliflower. It was boiled, and tasteless. Love to show them how my wife roasts Cauliflower. I eat them like candy. The Greek Lemon Soup? I love This Soup ... any place else. From here? Dishwater. No lemon, no taste. I had half a spoonful and tossed it. Absolutely terrible. I read other reviews that said it was tasteless and figured "how bad can it be?" Its that bad!

Finally, a note. You walk in, and the orders are by the register. I found mine and the girl said all set. I didn't have to sign for it. Suppose someone walks in, a very hungry person, reads the tickets to see if it's paid for, and then just yells "bingo!". Could they walk out with someone elses meal?

Other than that, it's worth going...

Today I happened to come across Go Greek while running into Meat farms. I love a good gyro so I thought I would give it a try.

I was met at the door by who I think was the owner, who kindly held the door for me. I went to the counter where Kylie took my order and explained how to order what I wanted. She was very helpful. I ordered the lamb gyro combo with fries and drink, which came to Under $14.

I sat in one of there booths (4 in total) and within a couple of minutes, they brought me my food. I was extremely impressed with what I received. The gyro was delicious and overstuffed with meat, not all the fillings... you know, lettuce tomatoe etc. This was probably the first time I was able to eat a gyro without having all that stuff going all over the place. It was just perfect with the lettuce and the very generous portion of meat. The side of fries were also huge too!

The restaurant is nothing fancy, but a nice place to eat if you choose to stay in. They had about 5 tables. In addition to the booths. Masks were worn as well as gloves. The restaurant was clean.
