Steppin Out Ponies and Petting Zoo (We are a traveling petting zoo) — Local services in Town of Islip

I have to start off with the 2 women (Alyssa and Victoria) who came and worked the petting zoo. They were both absolutely amazing. Professional and knowledgeable when asked questions about the animals. They were both great with the kids and superb in making sure both the animals and guests were safe. The way they set up, broke down and cleaned up was astonishing.

The communication from the owners was spot on. They explained what they come with in the base package, if you wanted to add any animals, and even give you a choice of what to dress the pony in catered for your event. They called a few days before to confirm and answer and additional questions you may have.

The petting zoo had the perfect assortment of animals. Adding the Alpaca is key if your just doing the petting zoo. All of the animals looked well taken care of and groomed. The kids couldn't get enough of the pony rides.

Overall I would give Steppin Out and 10/10, 100/100 whatever scale you want to use they are the top if it for every benchmark you could think of.

If you are thinking about booking them, dont think just do it! You won't regret it. It was literally fun for all ages! (Our party ranged from 1yr old to 83 and everybody enjoyed it) All of my guests complimented on it and asked how I am going to top it for next year. Not really sure I...

We had steppin out ponies and petting zoo at 2 of our birthday parties. Both times the staff arrived on time with an organized plan to set everything up. The animals were so clean and you can tell how well cared for they are. The staff were so friendly and informative about each animal. They spoke about them like they were family. One major reason we picked this zoo is they keep their animals all year round and are extremely humane with them.

From talking to the owner you can tell Karen loves her job and all of her animals. Everyone at our party enjoyed feeding and petting the animals.  They especially loved riding the ponies.  Staff were so safe with the children and worked very well with the few children who attended that had special needs.  After everyone had a blast the staff cleaned everything up and left our front yard they way they found it minus a little grazing lol.  It's now our annual tradition to visit them at Smidt Farms in Melville in October. I have been to parties with other zoos and they just don't compare to this steppin out.

Absolutely wonderful experience from booking my event to day of. Karen is wonderful- including her staff and beautiful animals/fur babies lol (in which she does rescue) I have hosted a private event and the driver and staff were so knowledgeable of the animals and were beyond friendly (I would say best customer service experience I have encountered since moving to the East Coast)

Package pricing is great value for all that you get Plus very interactive.

I have seen many petting zoos (even in Texas) and this is my favorite.

They not only attend private event and birthday parties, but you can catch a ride with the ponies at West Hampton Classic, or Schmidt’s farm during fall, and petting zoo and pony at any SmithTown Historical Society event. (Especially the goats at goat Yoga!)
