We love this small operation and great vibes. We had such great experience from the beginning to the end. It was forecasted to rain. They took care of us by providing layers of comfort from head to toe. Linc was our guide. He was knowledgeable and fun throughout the trip. He told great history Adirondack and areas around it. We learned the types of vegetation and stones, etc along the rivers. Linc explained the type of whitewater and swirls to us. He had such great skills to guide us paddle into the ‘vortex water’ and stayed in it. The whole raft was tilted to one side and we were half submerged into the water laughing away. So much fun. Other rafts passed and envied us. There was a raft got stuck on the rocks multiple times and we never did with Linc. It was calm water for the last hour of the ride. We were really tired in the light rain shower. He would allowed us to pull out some snacks and had a picnic on the raft. He was paddling and chatting away with us and made it feel shorter. We had a lunch break by the river. The turkey wrap was refreshing with a twist of slices of apple in it. So yummy. They also provided home made brownie, variety of cookies and some fruits with strawberries, pineapples, figs and tangerines. Very refreshing good mix. When we returned to the site, they provide interesting non-commercial snacks like Organic pineapple with cocoa swirl, potato chips, figs etc. Thanks Phoebe for all the awesome food. Lori Phoebe and Linc are awesome! We had an amazing time on the OK Slip Falls hike in and raft out excursion. Linc took us on the hike and provided historical information about the area along the way. He was very attentive and told us what to expect and when. He provided snacks and a delicious lunch (accommodating our vegetarian needs) and they had lemonade, cookies and brownies at the end of the hike. That's when we met up with Lori Phoebe for the rafting part. SO MUCH FUN!! After donning our life jackets and helmets and receiving thorough instructions, we were off. Linc and Lori Phoebe know the river like the back of their hands and they expertly guided us to all the fun spots. We had great conversation with them and lots of laughs. We genuinely felt so well taken care of and safe the entire way. I'm so very glad I found Square Eddy...I am sure the other rafting companies are great but I am pretty sure none of them provide the "hike in" option and maybe it's just me, but the passengers on the other rafts didn't look like they were having half the fun we were. We had an incredible day on the river with Linc and Square Eddy Expeditions! Once at the loading area, they got us right into the river and moving downstream, which created separation between us and the other boats on the river. From there, we were expertly guided down the river by Linc, who we were lucky enough to have as our guide. I have to make sure that I underscore Linc's masterful navigation down the river, making the complex task of guiding the boats seem effortless. It became very clear that he had intimate knowledge of how to guide us through every area of the river, making it a completely seamless experience. Moreover, Linc was knowledgeable about the river, the forest and did a great job telling us about the history of the area and graciously answered all of our (many) questions. It was such a great bonding experience for our group to be out on the water, enjoying each other's company. The Square Eddy team packed us a great homemade lunch for our midday stop. Even better, they completed the day with a beer, snacks and a hot dog at the end of the trip. We couldn't have asked for a better trip and can't wait to come back for another trip!
